Arsenal talent is now expected to join up with Burnley this pre-season as he prepares to leave North London.
Burnley are showing a real interest in Joel Ideho with the young winger expected to leave Arsenal this summer.
That is according to The Sun’s Alan Nixon, who claims that Burnley are planning to take a close look at Ideho this summer.
It’s stated that Arsenal have decided to let Ideho leave on a free transfer this summer with his contract coming to an end.
Ideho suffered injury problems at Arsenal and the Gunners are now ready to let him leave the club.
The report claims that Burnley want Ideho for their Under-21 side, seemingly seeing some potential for the future in Ideho.
Ideho may now receive a preseason training invitation from Vincent Kompany, who may also offer him a chance to try out for the Clarets.
Ideho, who will undoubtedly want another Premier League opportunity, would find that appealing.
Sadly, Joel Ideho’s move to Arsenal hasn’t been successful.
Ideho opted to leave Ajax and joined Arsenal back in 2020.
Ideho chose to depart for Arsenal in a somewhat contentious move after only recently joining Ajax from Willen II.
Agent Bart van Meel spoke to Ajax Showtime about the choice and expressed his displeasure with it.
Van Meel asserted that shortly after joining Ajax, an unidentified agent meddled and persuaded Ideho to leave.
Ideho should have stayed at Ajax, according to Van Meel, and the Amsterdam giants agreed that he needed more time in the city.
Ideho was convinced by Arsenal though and after nearly three years in North London, it’s fair to say the move hasn’t worked.
The 19-year-old has been in Arsenal first-team training a few times now but has never made his senior debut for the Gunners.
Ideho has turned out 37 times for the Arsenal Under-21’s in total, bagging three goals and four assists.
Ideho – described as skilful on Arsenal’s official website – clearly has talent but Arsenal seem ready to move on.
Maybe staying at Ajax could have been better for him, but Burnley will seemingly offer Ideho another chance to fulfil his potential.
