BREAKING NEWS: Sheffield Wednesday shows ‘strong’ interest to sign 22 year old star.

According to The Northern Echo, Sheffield Wednesday has entered the market for Everton striker Ellis Simms.

The 22-year-old forward, who excelled on loan at Sunderland during the 2022–23 season, is thought to be of “strong” interest to the newly promoted Owls.

Along with Stoke City, who have spoken with the Goodison Park hierarchy, the Black Cats are hopeful of completing a deal for their former loanee.

This would certainly be an ambitious move from the Owls.

Wednesday have just been promoted from League One and could well be looking to use that momentum to mount another assault on promotion.

It would be very spectacular if they succeeded in pulling off this maneuver. Simms has demonstrated that he is way too excellent for the second tier and would score tons of goals for any team he ended up playing for.

From Everton’s perspective, it makes sense to move him on during the summer window. The Toffees’ budget is going to be extremely tight and looking to wheel and deal has to be on the cards for Kevin Thelwell and the board.

Sean Dyche needs to be looking to land a proven goalscorer for the upcoming campaign. Far too often we’ve seen Everton light near the top end of the pitch.

One positive from this whole saga is that the number of interested clubs could spark a bidding war for Simms. The 22-year-old’s future is certainly one to keep an eye on heading into the summer.

Sheffield Wednesday target Jordan Storey is not for sale this summer, according to an emerging report from.

Sheffield Wednesday have been credited with an interest in Preston North End defender Storey, 25, who spent time on loan at Hillsborough during the 2021/22 campaign.

The Englishman featured 21 times in League One fixtures for the Owls, who achieved a top six finish that season, with Storey returning to Preston for the seaosn just gone where he featured in all but two of the Lilywhites’ league fixtures.

But a report from Lancs Live says that Preston North End are ‘not looking to sell Storey this window’. Their report adds that there’s been ‘no approach from Wednesday directly’ with the Owls previously reported to have been keen on a permanent deal for the player.

Storey returned to Preston last summer facing an uncertain future. But he took his chance and became an important player for the Lilywhites who could’ve gone on to secure a spot in the top six, with manager Ryan Lowe labelling Storey as both ‘brilliant’ and ‘fantastic’ last season.
