Liverpool are reportedly interested in hiring according to Football Insider They have been keeping an eye on the 22-year-old midfielder for some time, and they have now begun taking action to sign him.
Over the previous 12 months, Thuram has established a solid reputation for himself. He has consistently produced strong work for OGC Nice in Ligue 1. And a lot of people have been interested in his performances.
Before joining the French team, the 22-year-old defensive midfielder progressed through the ranks at Monaco. He re-joined them in the summer of 2019, and since then, he’s only become better.
The French Under-21 player played in 48 games during the recently finished season. He was on the pitch for over 3,700 minutes. Despite featuring as a defensive midfielder in the majority of the matches, the 22-year-old managed 10 goal contributions.
Liverpool under Jurgen Klopp noticed him from his performances, and they have been keeping a watch on him ever since. Due to their ineffective midfield in 2022–23, the Merseyside club is pressing for a midfield makeover before the upcoming season.
Alexis Mac Allister, a 22-year-old from Brighton, has already been hired by them, and they are now trying to add him to their team. Liverpool has opened discussions with OGC Nice in an effort to secure a contract for Thuram’s services.
The Merseyside has recently been in communication with the French club, and they will keep doing so. Despite the fact that his deal with the French club expires in the summer of 2025, they are considering letting him leave if they receive the right price.
Nice are hoping for a bidding war for the 22-year-old as they look to get the best possible deal. After recent negotiations, Liverpool believe they can strike a deal for the French Under-21 star. However, they have identified Ryan Gravenberch as a backup option, just in case, the Thuram deal falls off.
Liverpool targets Kephren Thuram and Manu Kone upstaged by France teammate’s stunning backheel strike
Arnaud Kalimuendo stole the headline with a stunning backheeled goal for France in the European under-21 Championships.
The Rennes striker pulled off the most sublime effort as he flicked the ball with his right foot into the bottom corner of the net.
As well as the 21-year-old’s stunning effort, Pierre Kalulu also deserves credit for the stunning cross that evaded the defenders and provided the pace for Kalimuendo’s memorable strike.
That effort was followed up by Bradley Barcola’s effort as France ran out 2-1 winners.
While France’s side is blessed with exciting young talent, Kalimuendo may not have been the name that many football fans expected to grab the headlines.
Kephren Thuram is arguably the biggest star in France’s side, with Liverpool heavily linked with a move for the Nice midfielder.
The Reds are also linked with Manu Kone, the Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder, who shone alongside Thuram for France.
