A farm in Greysouthen is not perhaps the first place you would look for when searching for the best young goalkeeper in

England. Why not, though? Trafford, next season, will play in the Premier League having joined Burnley from Manchester

City, in the wake of inspirational feats with his country’s Under-21s.

Through his talent, his support and encouragement at home, good environments both in childhood football and his

development at an elite club, he is now in high circles indeed, deservedly so.

You can say the same of Henderson, another keeper from these parts considered a worthwhile eight-figure investment by

another Premier League club. Another young Cumbrian who has shown the way to the top is available to anyone with the

right ingredients and motivations.

Those conclusions might not put cash in the till on their own. But there are different ways to view the world. The first one,

with these two goalies, must still be a heavy amount of local pride.
