‘You don’t have to deal with’: Sky pundit claims Liverpool selling duo has made them ‘stronger’

According to David James, Liverpool is now “stronger” after selling Fabinho and Jordan Henderson to Saudi Arabia this summer.

It was unexpected when the senior pair made their way to the exit, but the decision-makers on Merseyside had to take the money that Saudi Arabia had offered.

Although Fabinho’s form with Liverpool has disappeared and Jordan Henderson would have most likely played a squad position under Jurgen Klopp this season, the two were still significant players both on and off the field.

However, former goalkeeper David James stated on The Football Show on Sky Sports (28/11/23 at 10:30 am) that Dominik Szoboszlai has been a “revelation” that has helped Liverpool become championship challengers in the Premier League this season.

Following Saturday’s 1-1 draw between the Reds and Manchester City, Nathan Ake expressed his opinions about Mohamed Salah.

That was a better point for Jurgen Klopp and his team because David James is confident they can challenge for the Premier League title.

Liverpool minus Fabinho and Henderson
“I’m not shocked,” James remarked. “I believed the signings were appropriate when the season first started.

“During the summer, a number of midfield players were lost. You can argue that sometimes losing players makes you stronger because you are spared from having to cope with as many in and out players.

“A person like Szoboszlai is a revelation. Already, he is a definite fan favorite. I simply believe that the team is playing with confidence in their abilities.

“Are they in a title rice? Absolutely.”

The midfield of Liverpool needs time.
Nearly every aspect of Liverpool’s midfield is proven. Virgil van Dijk, the goalie, Salah, the fullbacks, and everyone else.

Henderson: Fabinho has responded to defensive challenge ...

The midfield needs to establish its ability to lead the squad back to trophy victories because it is new to the team.

Thus far, Szoboszlai’s performances have been encouraging, particularly since he seems like a natural fit for the Liverpool squad that ultimately emerged victorious.

He will undoubtedly play a significant role in the midfield if that were to occur again; the only thing missing is a defensive player who may be acquired through trade.
