Even though Andre Trindade is aware of Fulham’s recent transfer interest, he is allegedly focused on moving to Liverpool.
The 22-year-old Fluminense star is reportedly focused on moving to Anfield, with Jurgen Klopp’s team keen to recruit Andre in January, according to writer Emmanuel Luiz.
Andre’s £40 million release clause is not something the Reds are prepared to pay, but if it means completing a transfer to Merseyside, both the midfielder and Fluminense are prepared to take a lower offer from Liverpool.
In fact, it might not be long until Liverpool makes a move for the young player, and the midfielder himself is intent on joining Anfield in 2024.
When asked about Liverpool’s aggressive posture in the competition to recruit Andre and the race to sign the Brazilian, Luiz responded, “Fulham and Liverpool were in the race.”
“Andre really wanted Liverpool in the middle of the year, and that desire is still very evident, but at this point, that desire is the most important thing.”
Liverpool have to move quickly to sign Andre
With Fulham joining the fray and Tottenham apparently showing interest in the Fluminense star, the race to sign Andre is undoubtedly getting more competitive.
Andre is already sure that he wants to come to Merseyside, therefore Liverpool will need to step up their attempts to get the 22-year-old to Anfield.
The race for Andre is now squarely in Liverpool’s grasp, and time is of the essence if the Reds are to prevail in what may prove to be one of the most exciting of the whole January transfer season.
