PSG now set to sign Brazilian duo after reports Liverpool wanted both
Tottenham are reportedly in talks to sign OGC Nice defender Jean-Clair Todibo, with Liverpool also believed to be interested in the centre-back.
The north London side have held discussions with the £35m-rated Ligue 1 star with Todibo one of the stars of the season in France having led Nice to a historic start in the top-flight.
And as a result, interest is now high in Todibo, with Liverpool one of many Premier League sides linked with signing the former FC Barcelona wonderkid.
However, according to the Daily Mail, Tottenham are the side who are now leading the charge for Todibo, with Spurs looking to make at least three signings in January.
Indeed, news of Tottenham accelerating their talks to sign Todibo will come as a blow for Liverpool, who they themselves are also looking to add to their defensive ranks next month.
And Todibo would have been an incredible signing, with the French international the sort of talent who would thrive at Anfield for many years to come.
Liverpool missing out on Jean-Clair Todibo to Tottenham is a big blow
Whilst Liverpool’s interest in Todibo hasn’t been as strong as other clubs, seeing the defender join Tottenham would be viewed as a huge blow for supporters.
The centre-back has been part of one of the best defences in Europe this season, with Todibo on course to become one of the best in his position at his current developmental rate.
And for Liverpool, seeing the Frenchman sign for Tottenham could lead to regrets from the higher-ups at Anfield in the months to come.
Whilst there are clearly other defensive targets out there for Liverpool, missing out on Todibo could come back to bite the Reds if the youngster goes on to impress in north London with Tottenham.
