Alisson Becker and Diogo Jota are still sidelined for Liverpool’s Premier League match against Fulham on Sunday at Anfield.

Due to injuries, the two were unable to participate in Thursday’s 4-0 victory over LASK and are not anticipated to return for several weeks.

Caoimhin Kelleher, the backup goalie, will therefore most likely continue to start, although Klopp has more alternatives up front.

Darwin Nunez may replace Cody Gakpo, who began the game on Thursday alongside Mohamed Salah and Luis Diaz while wearing a brace.

The Reds manager stated, “Darwin is in a top moment and that didn’t change, super-important for us.”

The fact that he did not begin [on Thursday] is unrelated to anything else. Cody scored twice now, which is amazing.
Does that imply that he must play each of the next five games straight? Additionally, other players score. Cody doesn’t expect [that] right now since it isn’t about that.
“They want to score, that’s their job, but it’s not like I’m having sleepless nights now and I don’t know who to start with. To be honest, there isn’t really much of a choice.”

Stefan Bajcetic and Thiago Alcantara are still out of the picture for Liverpool, and Andy Robertson is currently recovering from shoulder surgery.

Salah, who scored his 199th goal on Thursday, will start as he attempts to achieve the 200-goal milestone for Liverpool.

Predicted Liverpool XI (4-3-3): Kelleher; Alexander-Arnold, Konate, Van Dijk, Gomez; Mac Allister, Jones, Szoboszlai, Salah, Nunez, Diaz

Injuries: Robertson, Alisson, Jota, Thiago, Bajcetic

Time and date: 2pm GMT on Sunday 3 December 2023

Venue: Anfield

Liverpool still in the hunt for Nice midfielder Khephren Thuram

Liverpool are still pursuing OGC Nice midfielder Khephren Thuram as links with the Frenchman simply refuse to go away.

The Reds were heavily linked with a move for the 22-year-old in the early part of last transfer window as they set about rebuilding their midfield, but Jurgen Klopp and sporting director Jorg Schmadtke eventually settled on other targets.

Liverpool brought in Dominik Szoboszlai, Ryan Gravenberch and Wataru Endo from the Bundesliga, with Alexis Mac Allister also arriving from Brighton & Hove Albion.

However, Thuram, who is son of World Cup winner Lilian and brother of Inter forward Marcus, reportedly remains of great interest to Klopp and Liverpool’s recruitment team, according to Fichajes.

The Reds are still interested in strengthening their engine room in coming transfer windows, with Thuram a prime target for Klopp.

The midfielder is likely to set the Reds back between £35-£50m according to various reports, although they will have to fend off interest from Juventus and Real Madrid for his signature.

It’s also worth considering Manchester United. With Sir Jim Ratcliffe, who owns the Ineos group that owns Nice, about to invest in the Red Devils, Thuram could be a potential target at Old Trafford given their midfield woes.

In all honesty, it seems incredibly unlikely that Liverpool will make a move for Thuram. The Reds would have made the youngster a priority in the summer given their need for midfield reinforcements, with a potential switch to Anfield having perhaps passed.

While Liverpool could add another midfielder to their squad in January or next summer, it would likely be a defensive midfielder capable of playing the deep No. 6 position, with Thuram more comfortable in a box-to-box role.

The Reds have been strongly linked with Fluminense midfielder Andre, however, Liverpool’s interest in the Brazilian has reportedly cooled.
