Update news: Declan Rice regrets the opportunity Arsène Wenger lost. see his reactions that got fans talking

Declan Rice acknowledges that he wishes he had the opportunity to play for Arsenal under Arsene Wenger, but the manager’s influence at the club is still felt.

Declan Rice joined Arsenal over the summer to play under Mikel Arteta, and things seem to be going well for the midfielder so far.

Rice acknowledges that while he is content under the Spanish head coach, he would have preferred to have worked with former Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger as well.

He’s talked about a lot, according to Rice. “I believe that managers from other teams in the past who have left have a different legacy and are not talked about in the same way.”

However, every player you speak to about Arsene regards him as a god.

“Meeting him was truly an honor; too bad I couldn’t play under him!”

Similar remarks regarding Wenger have been made by others in the past week besides Rice. Arteta also had positive things to say about his former manager over the weekend.

Arteta remarked, “You know how much he means to me and how much I love him.”

He brought me to the club and always had faith in me, so without him, I wouldn’t be standing here. It’s a pleasure and an honor to have him here.

“Every time you come here [the Emirates Stadium], you still get a strong sense about him.”

Seeing as how Wenger recently had his statue installed, returned to the stands after a few years away, and now pundits Gunners games, it’s encouraging to see him become a little more involved with his former team.

As Arteta notes, Wenger’s influence is still evident in Arsenal’s focus on a youthful, developing team that plays with lots of possession at the stadium that was constructed during his administration.

It’s evident from Rice’s remarks that the players still feel that way as well.
