Update news: ARSENAL SUFFERED AN UNACCEPTABLE LOSS, BUT COULD THIS BE OUR PROBLEM?

UNACCEPTABLE

OUTRAGED

TOTAL HORROR

…but I’m kinda happy after Arsenal’s win over West Ham in the BIG CAFFEINE DRINK I DON’T CARE ABOUT CUP.

Arsenal were largely ineffective. Mikel Arteta rolled with eight changes, as he should have, and the players he brought in didn’t put in a shift.

There was certainly some bad luck. West Ham scored a goal off zero xG to end the first half. But there wasn’t much to show for it. We only had three shots on target the entire game.

There were some truly dreadful performances out there.

Aaron Ramsdale just confirmed reality for Ramsdalians who have been complaining that I’m being too harsh on him:

He’s finished his time at Arsenal.

He set the bar low with an early duffed pass. He was actively targeted for ruffling by West Ham players for our first goal. Yes, the goal was not really his fault. His shirt was pulled. By my bigger question is why is it always part of his corner routine to spend that much time tussling with players? Harsh, maybe, but I don’t see Raya getting the same treatment and he’s smaller. The second goal was unstoppable… but for the 3rd, I want to see a keeper at Arsenal level getting to it. He doesn’t. You can claim it was impossible… but the problem Arsenal have had with Aaron is he doesn’t often save impossible. We’ve conceded 5 goals from 1.5 xG with him between the sticks for West Ham and Fulham. Those sorts of numbers don’t bring the David Raya experiment to an end I’m afraid.

What are you doing, Kai Havertz, my man? I’ve been showering you with propaganda machine love, and you’re making me look like a prized chump. I can’t rejoice in’moving the ball nicely’… I require more from my midfielder. I don’t want to fall asleep dreaming about Granit Xhaka. Where is the conflict? Where has the swagger gone? What’s the deal with West Ham? Kudus can’t be showing you up this early… However, here we are.

Eddie has grown on me. The Arsenal team as a whole was dross. But I can’t get past the wannabe Arsenal striker’s poor performance. His touch was missing; he faded into the background and made no contribution to the game. More consistency is required. Bullying Sheff U is pointless if you can’t get it in the Carabao.

There was literally no one willing to step up to the plate. So there’s no point in continuing the savaging. Going up to the North East to pummel Newcastle United is always the best medicine for a bad performance like that.

Nobody will notice if we do that.

Also, keep in mind that we made eight changes. Manchester United fielded a first-team squad and was thrashed by Newcastle. EMBARRASSING. I feel bad for everyone who told me EtH was a god because he used the word culture a lot.

Let’s get back to it.

Players do not have the same emotional baggage that we do. They’ll have gone to bed early this evening. They’ll rest up tomorrow, focus on the task at hand, and hopefully deliver something special this weekend.

That is something we must also do.

So get some rest.

I’ll see you later.
