Richarlison fires brutal Jurgen Klopp response after Tottenham vs Liverpool touchline incident.

Tottenham news as Richarlison has the last laugh in his war of words with Jurgen Klopp with a brutal message to the Liverpool boss following Spurs’ last-gasp Premier League win.

Richarlison has fired a brutal message to Jurgen Klopp after the pair were involved in a touchline incident during Tottenham’s Premier League clash with Liverpool.

A dramatic winner for Spurs deep into added time was overshadowed by a significant amount of VAR controversy and red cards to Curtis Jones and Diogo Jota at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

The first sending off came in the opening 45 minutes when Jones caught Yves Bissouma high on the leg with his studs up.

A yellow card was initially given by Simon Hooper but VAR intervened and recommended an on pitch review which saw the card upgraded to a red.

Jota, who came on for Cody Gakpo at half time, was then shown two yellow cards in quick succession for fouls on Destiny Udogie which saw Liverpool go down to nine men.

Ange Postecoglou’s side pushed for the winning goal but Liverpool held firm until their resolve was finally broken deep into added time when Pedro Porro’s cross was turned into his own net by Joel Matip.

With the Lilywhites picking up all three points, the Brazil international, who set up Son Heung-min’s first half goal, has responded to the altercation on TikTok. With a video of the incident, that came about after Richarlison went in strong on Mohamed Salah near Klopp, the 26-year-old has layered a song by The Beatnuts and Method Man called Se Acabo, a track regularly used alongside memes, with the caption of a singular hands crossed over face emoji.

Richarlison has a rich history with Liverpool and Klopp given his Everton roots and a very late goal scored at Anfield last season that looked to have secured Spurs a point, only for Jota to score a winner seconds later.

Postecoglou chose to bring Richarlison back into his starting XI in place of Brennan Johnson who picked up an injury in the North London Derby.

Many were expecting Richarlison to be deployed down the middle with Spurs captain Son on the left, however it was the other way around with the duo combining expertly to put Spurs in front in the first half.

Heading into the game, Son and James Maddison were injury doubts but both started the game, with Son taken off mid-way through the second half.

‘I DON’T LIKE THIS’: STEVE MCMANAMAN & TOTTENHAM COACH FUME AT TREATMENT OF LIVERPOOL MIDFIELDER

Steve McManaman and Jermain Defoe agreed that Curtis Jones was hard done by during Liverpool’s 2-1 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur.

Whilst it’s understandable that Steve McManaman, a former Liverpool player, is going to be annoyed by yesterday’s VAR calls.

Former striker Jermain Defoe, who is currently working as a coach at Tottenham, even agreed that Curtis Jones shouldn’t have been sent off, as he told Premier League.

On-field referee Simon Hooper initially gave a yellow card, before being told by VAR to go to his monitor where Curtis Jones was given his marching orders.

That would just prove to be the tip of the iceberg when it came to some of the calls made yesterday, as VAR sunk to lower depths.

All of which left McManaman fuming, as the former Liverpool man and Defoe agreed that the on-field referee going to his VAR screen and watching a ‘freeze frame’ of Curtis Jones’ tackle didn’t help.

Curtis Jones’ red card

“I think no red card,” said McManaman. “Yes, it looks like a poor challenge, at the end. But I think Curtis Jones gets a bit of the ball.

I think the follow-through and the momentum of him stretching for the tackle goes over the top of the ball and collides with Bissouma.”

Defoe gave his view: “I think it is the momentum of the challenge. He is unlucky. But when you slow it down, it looks worse than it is – when the referee went to the monitor and he saw that freeze frame, it almost made his mind up. I thought he was unlucky.”

McManaman added: “I don’t like this, at all. I don’t like that. The referee going over and a freeze frame on the collision when he should be seeing it in real-time and then making the judgment, then maybe finishing on that.

“I have got a huge issue with a few decisions, to be honest – I was really surprised.”

Liverpool lose unbeaten streak

That’s the first defeat of the season for Jurgen Klopp and his Liverpool players, who seem to be doing it the hard way this season.

Either they fall behind or go down to ten men, and in some cases, ask Newcastle United fans, do both.

Amazingly enough, they have managed to showcase their worth in each of those matches and when they were down to nine men yesterday, it looked like they were going to do the same.

That Joel Matip own goal was the sucker punch of all sucker punches, but they have no time to dwell and they now have to move on
