UNBELIEVABLE!: LFC legend has named the £23 million man as the best player to ever played at Liverpool.

Dirk Kuyt, a former Liverpool forward, has named Luis Suarez the best player he ever played with at the club.

Kuyt was speaking on ‘The Official Liverpool FC Podcast’ when he decided that Suarez had a slight edge over Fernando Torres for the title.

Suarez, according to the former Dutch international, was a ‘warrior’ on the field but a different person off it.

“But afterwards [after Fernando Torres] came Luis Suarez, for me he was the best striker I ever played with, what an unbelievable player,” Kuyt said.

“There’s such a difference between Luis on and off the field.” He is a warrior on the field, not only in games but also in training.

“But off the pitch he is just such a great guy, very easy going, family man.”

Of course, a different Uruguayan Liverpool striker is currently making headlines.

Darwin Nunez has had some excellent performances this season, but he famously failed to score against Luton Town.

£23m Suarez has recently been extremely complimentary of Nunez, but he may now find it difficult to defend some of his misses.

At Liverpool, Kuyt thought Suarez was slightly ahead of Torres.
In addition to praising Suarez, Dirk Kuyt named Javier Mascherano as the most underappreciated teammate he played with at Liverpool.

And the Dutchman might believe that Liverpool could use a midfielder with Mascherano’s skill set right now.

Alexis MacAllister is doing well in a deeper role, but Liverpool’s midfield may appear light ahead of some big tests.

Nonetheless, some Liverpool fans will be hoping that Darwin Nunez can one day reach the lofty Suarez levels that Kuyt describes.

And it’ll be interesting to see if Nunez makes the next few XIs for Jurgen Klopp.

The competition in Liverpool’s front line is now fierce.

And, while Nunez is showing a lot of promise, he will need to start producing on a consistent basis.
