UNBELIEVABLE: Kevin De Bruyne Opens up on Possible Saudi Pro League interest that he will….

Kevin De Bruyne keen on Man City stay despite Saudi Pro League interest

  • De Bruyne currently contracted to Manchester City until 2025
  • The Belgian is recovering from a hamstring injury and may not be back in action until January.
  • Saudi Pro League linked with move for 32-year-old playmaker

Despite the Saudi Pro League’s interest, 90min has been informed that Manchester City and Kevin De Bruyne have little inclination to split up anytime soon.

After sustaining a hamstring injury against Burnley on the first day of the season, De Bruyne has missed the most of current campaign and is unlikely to return until the new year.

The Belgian has been linked to a move away from the club despite being sidelined by injury, after it was revealed that the Saudi Pro League had him on their radar.

90min is aware of the Pro League’s interest in De Bruyne and their willingness to tempt one of the best players in the Premier League to the Middle East.

Major League Soccer is still a viable option as well.

De Bruyne loves living in America and has visited the nation frequently for holidays.

Many who know him think that if he were to play overseas, it would probably be with an MLS team.

De Bruyne is by no means finished with the Premier League, though. Although he is still only 32, it is known that the former playmaker for Wolfsburg and Chelsea has observed the longevity of players like Luka Modric (38), Cristiano Ronaldo (38) and Lionel Messi (36), and he feels he might emulate them by playing at the greatest level in the future.

De Bruyne now has a contract with City that expires in 2025, though he hasn’t ruled out staying longer at the Etihad.

Both the player and the club are totally dedicated to one another, insiders have told 90min, so even though the negotiations have not yet picked up speed, neither is concerned about the current state of affairs.

De Bruyne’s current focus is attempting to return to action by Christmas, when Manchester City usually look to turn the screw and hit their stride amid a hectic run of fixtures.

Man City set Kalvin Phillips ‘transfer price’ as Newcastle eye star to replace Tonali

Kalvin Phillips is one of the names on Newcastle United’s shortlist of Sandro Tonali replacement candidates.

According to reports, Kalvin Phillips is being bidder by Manchester City, even though he hasn’t played much since joining from Leeds in the summer.

The England international is reportedly being considered by Newcastle United as a potential replacement for Sandro Tonali, who is now suspended.

The Magpies’ need to replace Tonali is no secret, with the Italian receiving a 10-month football ban for betting breaches.

And City are seemingly keen to extract every last penny out of Newcastle’s mega-rich owners once January rolls around.

Phillips set the Sky Blues back £42million last summer, and he has only started five matches in the 15 months since.

Nevertheless, The Mirror claim that City will set a £50m asking price for the 27-year-old if Newcastle come calling.

It seems likely that Phillips will seek out a new challenge this winter as he looks to secure a spot in Gareth Southgate’s England squad for Euro 2024.

The Leeds academy graduate made it clear during the international break that he will be forced to assess his options unless Pep Guardiola gives him more game time.

Things have looked bleak for Phillips in recent weeks, finding himself consigned to the bench even when Rodri was suspended.

The likelihood of him leaving the Etihad Stadium has sparked a wave of interest from the Premier League and beyond.

Juventus, Liverpool, West Ham and Aston Villa will reportedly rival Newcastle for Phillips’ signature.
