Lewis Hamilton has been described as like “a shark in the ocean” that “smelled blood” en route to ending two and a half years of hurt with his British Grand Prix victory.

There was barely a dry eye in the house when Hamilton took the chequered flag at Silverstone for his 104th F1 victory but his first since the 2021 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, and for 946 days.

Why Lawson is testing Verstappen’s Red Bull

A lot has been made about Liam Lawson’s filming day at Silverstone, with the New Zealander taking a seat in Max Verstappen’s RB20.

Lawson is permitted to cover 200 kilometres – about 33 laps of the full grand prix track, and will also be behind the wheel of the 2022 AlphaTauri later in the month.

The result? Much speculation, as the link to the dire situations of Sergio Perez and Daniel Ricciardo is quickly made.

Max Verstappen has refused to accept the idea that Red Bull could get “lazy” as it seeks diminishing returns on its F1 car.

Button expresses concern for Norris after British GP comments

Jenson Button has expressed concern for Lando Norris’s well-being after comments made following the British Grand Prix.

Norris was a major victory contender at Silverstone, but a strategy blunder from McLaren led to the soft tyres being fitted to Norris’s car at the change-back from intermediate tyres to slicks, instead of the brand-new mediums saved for just a scenario.
