Top Defensive Liverpool Midfield Target Official Statement on Liverpool transfer interest And Deals as Star role becomes clear

Liverpool target Andre ‘happy’ with offers as midfielder breaks silence on transfer.

Our morning Liverpool FC digest focuses on two stories surrounding Jurgen Klopp midfield transfer target Andre

Brazil international Andre admits he is happy to be linked with Liverpool – but insists he mind remains focused on Fluminense at present.

The 22-year-old midfielder emerged as a target for the Reds as they continue a midfield revamp that has already seen the arrivals of Alexis Mac Allister, Dominik Szoboszlai and Wataru Endu this summer.

Liverpool held initial talks earlier this month with Fluminense over the player, with reports in Brazil suggesting they are preparing an offer of around £25million plus add-ons.

The Brazilian side, though, are adamant they will not allow Andre to leave during the summer transfer window given they remain in the hunt to win the Copa Libertadores – the South American equivalent of the Champions League – for the first time in their history.

And the player is not allowing himself to be distracted despite welcoming the news of offers from Europe, with Fulham having been interested in January and Sporting Lisbon also tracking the player.

Liverpool Andre transfer pursuit reaching key juncture as Jorge Mendes role revealed

The early hours of Friday could see plenty of Liverpool fans glued to events nearly 6,000 miles away from Anfield.

Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, may well be the area of interest for Reds supporters when Fluminense take on Paraguayan side Olimpia in the first leg of their Copa Libertadores quarter-final, with the second leg due to be played in the early hours of the morning on September 1, which is transfer deadline day.

Victory for Fluminense will surely end hopes of Liverpool honing in on a late August deal for midfielder Andre, while an exit for the Brazilians could yet reopen the path for negotiations between the two clubs as Jurgen Klopp looks to end an-times turbulent transfer window with a flourish.

Having added Wataru Endo to the deals for Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboslzai, midfield remains the area for Liverpool to focus their efforts on as the transfer window enters its final week or so.

Andre has been identified as a target with the Reds understood to have opened up the lines of communications with Fluminense at the beginning of August. The 22-year-old’s form has been impressive enough to see him force his way onto the international scene this calendar year and Andre was part of the Brazil side that was beaten 4-2 by Senegal in June.

By a fair few metrics, he appears poised to take the next step towards European football but what happens in the coming days could be hugely instructive to where and when that switch is eventually made.
