A situation in which James Harden ends up forming a Boston Celtics Big 4 next to Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, and Kristaps Porzingis — an idea
originally proposed by Lee Tran of Fadeaway World that’d swap the Beard for Malcolm Brogdon and Derrick White — is one that is “tantalizing” but
ultimately “fraught” with challenges according to The Sixer Sense’s Abin Thomas.
“While the proposed trade is a tantalizing prospect for the Boston Celtics, it is fraught with challenges both in terms of financial dynamics and inter-
team relationships,” Thomas prefaced before saying, “It underscores the multifaceted nature of NBA trade scenarios, where strategy, finance, and
player sentiments converge.”
From the Houdini’s vantage point, you’d be hard-pressed to even find Celtics fans out there who’d be willing to swap out White for just about anyone;
let alone a player who’s asking for his third trade request in three years.
James Harden will be traded, just not to the Boston Celtics
Of course, any day now, the Harden news is going to drop and the Beard will be wearing Clippers colorways. Thomas admits that the Philadelphia
76ers will indeed ship out the former MVP — just not to the Cs.
“Harden’s past trade requests and eventual moves from the Houston Rockets and Brooklyn Nets establish a pattern,” Thomas wrote. “The strong
statement that he intends to ‘never wear’ a Sixers uniform again further cements his determination. Given these precedents, while the odds of a trade
to the Celtics might be minimal, Harden’s eventual move from the Sixers seems inevitable.”
If the Sixers were willing to go for a Brogdon-led package that also features Payton Pritchard and future draft considerations, Harden would be a
Celtic yesterday. But Philadelphia’s front office is hellbent on getting the best return possible, meaning that Brad Stevens and Co. likely laugh Daryl
Morey off the phone after hearing what the Sixers want in return for their disgruntled star.

Grant Williams Reunites With Celtics In Ex-Teammate’s Wedding
There’s no bad blood between Grant Williams and the Boston Celtics.
Even after getting traded to the Dallas Mavericks, which also came with a $54 million extension, Williams’ bond with now-former Boston
teammates remains alive and well. It’s clear no trade from the Celtics can overwrite the brotherhood that Williams built over the course of four
seasons with Boston.
Williams was in attendance for the wedding of Sam Hauser, also joined by Derrick White, Blake Griffin (current NBA free agent) and Luke Kornet.
A few photos surfaced on social media on the reunion, courtesy of Williams:

Like the Celtics, Williams will join a Mavericks team looking to put away their 2022-23 season’s end in the rearview mirror. Dallas missed playoff
contention after going 38-44 and nearly met the Celtics in the NBA Finals in the season prior.
With the 2023-24 NBA schedule still pending, it’s unknown when Williams’ return to Boston will be, but needless to say, the 24-year-old will be
welcomed back to TD Garden with no shortage of applause.
