Coventry City manager Frank Lampard will be hoping to end the month with a more formidable team than he began with, as the January transfer window is currently open.
Long-time manager Mark Robins was fired and replaced by Lampard in November due to the Sky Blues’ dismal start to the season.
The former Chelsea player will be looking for a better second half of the campaign. The Sky Blues are unlikely to push their way into the top six this season, but the play-offs aren’t entirely out of the question just yet.
The second half of the season should serve as the ideal opportunity to set the stage for a victorious 2025–2026 campaign.
After an impressive first season at the CBS Arena which saw him bag 19 goals for the Sky Blues, including three in their run to the FA Cup semi-final, Haji Wright has been a rare bright spot for Coventry this season.
He’s the club’s top scorer by some considerable distance this season, and it’s no surprise that the American international forward is attracting interest from elsewhere.
It’s been reported that the 26-year-old is attracting interest from Premier League sides Ipswich Town and Leicester City, and Lampard should be desperately keen to retain Wright’s services this month.
