Over £400,000 has been raised by Celtic FC for their 2024 Christmas Appeal. After helping those severely impacted by the cost of living problem, the club’s charity wing has celebrated their most successful holiday campaign to date.
A staggering £412,000 was raised and sent to charity that support women’s aid, the homeless, and refugees, according to the Celtic FC Foundation. Over Christmas, 1,068 households experiencing poverty and suffering benefited from the money collected.
Additionally, the charity provided meals and Christmas vouchers to 938 disadvantaged retirees and other people in Glasgow, the West, and Edinburgh. 400 of the 725 youngsters in Glasgow who received assistance received brand-new toys and presents.
Their appeal not only supported grassroots work in Glasgow but also throughout the UK and Ireland and even reached the Canadian capital of Ottawa. Tony Hamilton, Chief Executive of the Celtic FC Foundation, said: “To come together and be able to exceed £400,000 for the first time is a credit to everyone who supported this year’s Appeal, and once again demonstrates the uniqueness of this Football Club. Making such a meaningful difference to so many people in our communities never happens by chance.” On Christmas Day, they will host 350 guests at the stadium for a three-course Christmas dinner, entertainment, and a visit from Santa.
