Sad News: Raducanu reveals her next shocking move after Wimbledon Exit as she plans to…
Emma Raducanu recently concluded her 2024 Wimbledon Championships campaign, and she provided an update on her schedule in the coming weeks.
Raducanu won’t be playing at the Olympic Games in Paris this year, opting to focus on her health instead. She didn’t feel the quick surface changes would be good for her body, and after experiencing wrist soreness recently, that likely was a wise decision.
She won’t be sitting idle, though. The Brit will play tennis in July but will be in the United States. After resting for about two weeks, Raducanu will go to the United States, where she’ll continue her 2024 season at the Citi Open in Washington, as she revealed at SW19.
“I’m going to go to States, start in D.C. and get on the hard courts. I think I will take a few days off, just to freshen up with the body. It’s intense period on the grass, but I feel good about things going forwards, I feel optimistic. So I’ll just start off in D.C. and go from there.”

The event runs from July 29th to August 4th, which clashes with the Olympic Games, so the players who opted to skip the tournament will mainly appear in Washington.
After playing in D.C., Raducanu will continue her stay in the United States by playing some more events, but she didn’t specify exactly which tournaments she plays to participate in.
Obviously, there is the WTA 1000 tournament in Canada and another one in Cincinnati, followed by the US Open. One thing Raducanu has been doing since coming back from injury is choosing her spots and not rushing to play all events, which may prove to be the case also during the US Open swing.
She tried to do that in the past, but it didn’t really work out, as her body wasn’t ready. She spent much of last year working on her body, but as we’ve seen recently, it’s not a given that everything will go smoothly.
