Arsenal will look to get back on track when they host Sevilla in the Champions League on Wednesday night at the Emirates Stadium.
If other results go their way, a win for the Gunners could ensure their progression to the knockout stages of the competition.
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is currently dealing with a number of selection issues ahead of the game, with Martin Odegaard a doubt.
In addition, fellow Gunners midfielder Thomas Partey is still out with a hip injury.
This suggests that Arteta will start Fabio Vieira alongside Declan Rice and Jorginho in the Arsenal starting XI.
After struggling in recent weeks, Vieira will be eager to prove himself. The 23-year-old struggled in his last appearance, a Carabao Cup defeat to West Ham.
He did, after all, set up Odegaard’s late goal, but he was mostly anonymous for the majority of the game, rarely troubling the Hammers.
Vieira did come off the bench against Newcastle but, while he was busy in his cameo, he lacked cutting edge.
For Arsenal, Vieira has shown flashes of brilliance.
The Arsenal prospect started the season well, but his form has dipped, so he’ll be looking to rebound with a strong performance against Sevilla.
Arteta called Vieira a “tremendous” player earlier this year, and he certainly has the potential to do well, having shown glimpses of his talent.
In February, he said on HaytersTV, “Very close (to fully adapting).”
“He’s starting to give me headaches because I see what he’s capable of doing every day.” “A fantastic player!”
Now we’ll see if Vieira can regain form and, more importantly, consistency for an Arsenal team looking to win a trophy this season.
Sevilla, beware. He has something to prove.
