Aguero, a former Manchester City player, believes that Man United and Arsenal would attempt to unseat City as champions next year.
The best player for Manchester City, Sergio Aguero, believes that Manchester United and Arsenal will be their main rivals for the Premier League championship in 2019.
In the six years that Pep Guardiola has been in charge of City, they have just claimed their fifth Premier League championship. In the last minutes, when Arsenal faltered, the Blues overtook and passed them. As a result, City maintained their winning status.
The Gunners, Mikel Arteta’s club, were in first place for the majority of the season and appeared headed for their first Premier League crown since the 2004 “Invincibles.” At the conclusion of the regular season, City had five more points than Arteta’s group. City, however, sped past the Gunners to prevent that from happening.
Aguero won the Premier League five times when he was with City before retiring in 2021. He then joined Barcelona, but soon after arriving in Spain, a doctor advised him to leave.
According to Aguero, City will once again be a serious title contender in 2023–24. However, he believes that United and Arsenal, who both placed third in Erik ten Hag’s first season in charge, would present the biggest challenges for his former team as they attempt to win their sixth championship in seven years.
Aguero wrote for Stake and stated, “City will still be competitive next season. They have established themselves as the Premier League’s top team. They have three titles in a row, which is difficult to do, and they play with great clarity.
Why do you think you can’t get another, then? Like he does every season, Pep will continue to implement the modifications he believes are required to maintain competitiveness. However, given that this is the Premier League and sports, rival teams will attempt to topple them from their throne.
I believe that Arsenal has developed a crucial group of young players who still have a ways to go. Next season, Mikel Arteta’s club will be one to beat because of his efforts to fortify his lines.
“Manchester United must not be overlooked either. They’ve regained their competitiveness, and they’ll be among the clubs that are most eager to defeat City.

As reported by Belgian journalist Sacha Tavolieri, Barcelona are competing with Manchester City to sign Rennes’ Belgium international winger, Jérémy Doku, this summer.
As confirmed by Fabrizio Romano, Manchester City are interested in the 21-year-old as a replacement for fellow winger Riyad Mahrez, now 32, who departed for Saudi Arabian club Al-Ahli last week. Talks are already underway between the player and the Premier League winners, but no offer has been made, and City are yet to speak with Rennes over a fee.
While the Manchester club remains the most likely destination for Doku, Barcelona are also very much in the running, says Tavolieri, with the La Liga side looking at a replacement for PSG-bound Ousmane Dembélé, whose release clause was triggered by the Paris club earlier today.
Valued by Rennes at around €50m, talks over Doku’s future are in their infancy but movement is expected soon for the unpredictable, skilful wide man who finally found form and fitness in Ligue 1 at the end of last season following two years of repeated fitness issues.
