Leeds United proving tough negotiators with star player attracting foreign interest – Report
Leeds United are said to be commanding a fee of around €25million for the sale of Willy Gnonto this summer, with Freiburg interested in the
Bundesliga.

Leeds’ transfer activity in the final weeks of the transfer window is likely to be dictated by who leaves the club for decent fees.
Significant sales could bring the club enough money to reinvest properly in the market with more depth across the board.
Willy Gnonto to Freiburg?
German outlet Bild reported on Sunday that Leeds forward Willy Gnonto is a reported target for Freiburg in the Bundesliga, as they aim to add a new striker to their ranks.
However, they are currently coming up stuck in their attempts to prise him from Elland Road over the asking price being set by Leeds.
90min have now added to these reports, sharing that Leeds are demanding €25million (£21.5m) for Gnonto to leave before the end of the window.
Leeds’ current standing in the Championship may seem like they need to sell key players to stay afloat financially, but this report underlines that this isn’t the case with the Italian international:
“At first glance, this may look like a very large sum, but Gnonto is predicted to have a good development, while he is estimated at a market value of 18 million euros and he has a contract still valid until 2027.
“The relegated is therefore not under sales pressure. However, the 25 million euros are – unsurprisingly – far too much for Freiburg.”
Gnonto would be one attacking player I can see us losing before the end of the window, but we’re not going to sell him without our demands being met.
He’s an Italian international as a teenager, and his country’s youngest-ever scorer, so why would we sell for cheap?
We have him tied down to a long-term deal, so if a team wants him, they are going to have to pay handsomely to take him.
