REPORT: ANGE POSTECOGLOU SAYS THAT WONDERKID WILL BE SOLD THIS SUMMER.

Oliver Skipp could be sold in the summer by Tottenham Hotspur, along with Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Giovani Lo Celso, according to journalist Gary Jacob.

Everything is changing under Ange Postecoglou at Tottenham. In just two transfer windows, the Australian has brought in a number of top quality players to revitalise his squad, and we have seen many fringe players leave the club, too.

One area that still needs work is in the centre of midfield, a position cited as Tottenham’s next big priority when it comes to finding upgrades (The Independent).

Spurs have long held an interest in Conor Gallagher, but it seems more likely that the Chelsea man would move in the summer now as opposed to a switch in the current transfer window (Football Insider).

Regardless of if and when that move happens, it would appear a number of Tottenham players are facing an uncertain future at the club, with both Oliver Skipp and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg having their game time limited this season.

Is Oliver Skipp on his way out of Spurs?

With this in mind, Gary Jacobs has revealed what he believes the Spurs midfield will look like in a few months from now, and there doesn’t seem to be a place for Skipp or Hojbjerg.

Jacobs told The Times: “Tottenham’s midfield is changing. By the summer Skipp, Højbjerg and possibly Lo Celso will be gone. Then it’s Bentancur and Bissouma, Sarr and Maddison. The latter two are the attacking one. So they would be short and maybe need a player who can press and break a line.”

It would be a shame to see Skipp go, but the fact he is an academy product should not prevent the club from having the best possible players at their disposal. He has shown moments of real promise, but sadly, Skipp just isn’t dynamic enough for the style of football we want to play.

How much each player currently earns per week at Tottenham Hotspur

The money footballers earn on a weekly basis—whether deserved or not—is truly mind-blowing. Take the Tottenham Hotspur squad for example, who apparently earn around £115m per year between them.

As one of the biggest clubs in the biggest league in the world, that shouldn’t really be surprising. And, with one of the best stadiums in the world driving commercial success for Tottenham, it’s safe to say the club can afford it.

How much do the Spurs players get paid?

Well, if you’ve ever been curious about how much each player in the Spurs squad earns on a weekly basis, we’ve got the answers for you right here thanks to data from Spotrac.com. And let’s just say, some players are being criminally underpaid, while others are being paid far too much—like Tanguy Ndombele.

Current first-team players and how much they earn per year and per week:

Heung-Min Son – £9.88m a year or £190,000 per week
Ivan Perisic – £9.36m a year or £180,000 per week
James Maddison – £8.84m a year or £170,000 per week
Cristian Romero – £8.58m a year or £165,000 per week
Timo Werner – £4.3m for his 6-month loan or £164,000 per week (SkySports)
Dejan Kulusevski – £5.72m a year or £110,000 per week
Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg – £5.3m a year or £101,923 per week
Richarlison – £4.68m a year or £90,000 per week
Pedro Porro – £4.42m a year or £85,000 per week
Ben Davies – £4.16m a year or £80,000 per week
Rodrigo Bentancur – £3.9m a year or £75,000 per week
Fraser Forster – £3.9m a year or £75,000 per week
Guglielmo Vicario – £3.9m a year or £75,000 per week
Brennan Johnson – £3.64m a year or £70,000 per week
Giovani Lo Celso – £3.64m a year or £70,000 per week
Manor Solomon – £3.12m a year or £60,000 per week
Yves Bissouma – £2.86m a year or £55,000 per week
Ryan Sessegnon – £2.86m a year or £55,000 per week
Micky van de Ven – £2.6m a year or £50,000 per week
Radu Dragusin – £2.6m a year or £50,000 per week (Evening Standard)
Destiny Udogie – £2.34m a year or £45,000 per week (this may be before his new contract)
Emerson Royal – £2.17m a year or £41,731 per week
Bryan Gil – £2.08m a year or £40,000 per week
Oliver Skipp – £2.08m a year or £40,000 per week
Alejo Véliz – £1.3m a year or £25,000 per week
Ashley Phillips – £780,000 a year or £15,000 per week
Pape Sarr – £520,000 a year or £10,000 per week (before his new contract – he is now rumoured to be earning ‘more than double’ according to FootballInsider).
Brandon Austin – £390,000 a year or £7,500 per week
Alfie Whiteman – £390,000 a year or £7,500 per week

However, Heung-min Son is not actually the top earner at the club. That unfortunate honour goes to Tanguy Ndombele, who is currently on loan at Fenerbahce.

Here are a selection of the players out on loan from Spurs and how much they earn:

Tanguy Ndombele – £10.4m a year or £200,000 a week
Sergio Reguilón – £2.76m a year or £53,000 a week
Djed Spence – £1.3m a year or £25,000 per week
Japhet Tanganga – £1.3m a year or £25,000 per week
Joe Rodon – £500,000 a year or £9,615 per week

Spurs Web Opinion

Just think, if we only sell Hojbjerg and Dier in January, that frees up enough wages to pay another Sonny. And that’s not to mention the money we are spending on Ivan Perisic each week. Once we get to the summer, that wage bill needs trimming, that’s for sure.
