Reporter talks about Reds target being in the “same bracket” as Jude Bellingham
Jurgen Klopp may have made a signing that will transform the game.
Liverpool are reportedly targeting the signing of an incredible talent, and journalist Dean Jones has provided his thoughts on the move coming to fruition.
Liverpool transfer news…
The Reds have been linked with various players of late, as Jurgen Klopp eyes key additions in various positions, whether it be Goncalo Inacio in defence or Nico Gonzalez in attack, to name just a few examples.
Bayern Munich superstar Jamal Musiala to Liverpool is another eye-catching transfer rumour that has emerged, with the Merseysiders reportedly seeing him as a priority target in 2024. The 20-year-old is already one of Europe’s most exciting players, not to mention being an undisputed key man for both Bayern and Germany, and he looks set to have an enormous future ahead of him.
This sums up why Liverpool could be so interested in acquiring the attacker’s signature, although his current club are clearly going to be desperate to retain his services for as many years as possible.
Musiala to Liverpool latest
Speaking to Give Me Sport, Jones provided his thoughts on Jamal Musiala to Liverpool being completed in the near future, admitting that he can’t see it happening at this point and putting the player in the “same bracket as Jude Bellingham”.
“Jamal Musiala is being linked to Liverpool, but the verdict I have from Bayern’s end of this suggests that story is heading straight towards a brick wall because there is no intention to sell at all right now.
This is a player that is in the same bracket as Jude Bellingham, and I don’t get the impression they are going to sell him any time soon, with him contracted until 2026.
“Liverpool are being linked with quite a few players at German clubs at the moment – Leroy Sane and Donyell Malen have been talked about as well – so maybe this Musiala link comes as part of that scouting.”
“Have Liverpool watched him? Of course, they would have. But are they going to sign him? I can’t see it happening any time soon.”
This could be seen as a real blow for Liverpool in their quest to sign Musiala in the coming months, but in truth, it shouldn’t come as a great surprise to anyone of a Reds persuasion.
Much like Real Madrid sensation Bellingham, whom he is compared to, the Bayern ace may well be seen as a priceless asset by the Bundesliga champions at the moment, and they surely won’t entertain any offers.
It may make little sense for them to sell a generational talent at this point in his career, when they could instead keep hold of him and continue to be able to call upon the services of a special young footballer.
Only an absolutely staggering bid would likely have a chance of prising Musiala away from Bayern at this moment in time, and Liverpool aren’t one of the clubs who seemingly have a bottomless pit of transfer funds to spend on new players.
For now, it may have to be considered nothing more than a pipe dream for the Reds, but they may hope that the situation changes in the future.
Man Utd: Red Devils looking to sign “unplayable” midfielder The Red Devils appear to have identified a new target.
Manchester United are reportedly keen on strengthening their midfield in the January transfer window and a new development has now emerged regarding one of their key targets.
Man Utd updates: Rory McIlroy, Paul Mitchell appointment, Marc Guehi price
In a surprise Man Utd takeover update, golfer Rory McIlroy has claimed that he would be keen to invest in his boyhood club once the proposed deal that will see Sir Jim Ratcliffe and his petrochemicals firm Ineos lay claim to 25% of the Premier League giants is ratified. The 34-year-old stated:
“I would love to be able to own a tiny percentage of the club I grew up cheering on as a boy.
I would have loved to have taken 0.00001 per cent of Manchester United when Jim Ratcliffe took 25 per cent.
And if another opportunity comes my way I will look at it. But it is not something that has come across our table as of yet.”
Off the field, one piece of latest Red Devils news has detailed that former AS Monaco sporting director Paul Mitchell is believed to have been lined up to take on a similar role at Old Trafford under Ratcliffe’s new regime.
Dave Brailsford, Ratcliffe and Joel Glazer may form a committee to establish the direction the Red Devils will take regarding football operations at the club.
Brailsford, who is Team Ineos’ director of sport, has already initiated contact with several sporting directors over the last 12 months, with Newcastle United’s Director of Football Dan Ashworth also under consideration to take up the role. It is unclear how much influence any incoming sporting director would have over player recruitment.
Man Utd transfer news is also beginning to ramp up as the January transfer window approaches and Football Insider indicate that Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi is on the radar as a potential defensive reinforcement at Old Trafford.
Nevertheless, the outlet claim that Manchester United could have to shell out as much as £60 million to land the England international in 2024;
meanwhile, the former Chelsea man isn’t deemed to be too keen on a move to Erik ten Hag’s side as he wants playing guarantees ahead of EURO 2024.
Man Utd transfer update – Tijjani Reijnders
According to a Man United transfer update from Calciomercato via Sport Witness, the Red Devils have set their sights and are reportedly keen on signing AC Milan midfielder Tijjani Reijnders, who has also appeared on the radar of Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain.
The report states that Reijnders has an asking price in the region of €40 million (£35 million), which isn’t believed to be a problem for those at Old Trafford as Ten Hag eyes reinforcements.
Reijnders, who has previously been labelled “unplayable” by journalist Josh Bunting, has made ten appearances in all competitions for AC Milan this term, registering two assists (Reijnders statistics – Transfermarkt).
Manchester United always seem to be on the lookout to secure quality additions to improve their fortunes and Reijnders could offer quality in both boxes for Ten Hag if both parties were to come to an agreement on a future transfer.
