Premier League star opens door for Nottingham Forest to return for him in January

Nuno Espirito Santo had a hectic summer transfer window, signing 11 players for the City Ground.

However, not all of the new arrivals have remained with Forest for the current season, as players like David Carmo and Marko Stamenic have been loaned out to Olympiacos.

Elliot Anderson and Nikola Milenkovic have been the standout signings, with both players now key starters when fit and available.

It appears that Nottingham Forest already has a target in mind for January, as they are preparing to make an offer for Yuri Alberto.

That’s not all, as reports today suggest that a summer target might be leaving his current club in January, having hinted at a potential exit.

Andreas Pereira opens the door for a move to Nottingham Forest
Andreas Pereira has become one of the Premier League’s most dependable attacking midfielders in recent seasons with Fulham.

However, it seems he is growing weary of his time at the Cottagers, as his recent comments have raised eyebrows.

In an interview with Premier League Brasil, the midfielder revealed that he was eager to join Marseille during the summer.

He also mentioned that Nottingham Forest showed interest and made an offer.

“From outside (England), there was an offer from Marseille, we had discussions, but unfortunately it didn’t work out,” he said.”In the final days of the transfer window, Nottingham Forest also made an offer. Those were the clubs that came closest to signing me, but there was a lot of interest,” he added.

“Since I was on vacation, I was in more contact with him (his agent, Bertolucci). But he always keeps me informed, telling me, ‘Look, there are clubs interested, let’s see what happens.’

“It would have been really cool to go to Marseille because of the way De Zerbi plays football. I was looking forward to it, but we’ll have to see in January or at the end of the season whether there will be a transfer or if I’ll stay at Fulham.”

Do Nottingham Forest need a midfielder?

Elliot Anderson and Morgan Gibbs-White have been the advanced midfielders this season, and there’s also Jota Silva who can operate centrally.

Lewis McGugan has already expressed his excitement about Anderson’s performances this season.

Andreas Pereira has netted just one goal in 12 Premier League appearances this season, and Fulham’s inconsistency may be causing him to reconsider his future.

However, there may be little need for Pereira at Nottingham Forest. After all, Nuno Espirito Santo has already faced challenges in fitting both Anderson and Gibbs-White into the same lineup following Nicolas Dominguez’s rise.
