According to Chris Jack of The Herald Scotland, Leeds United is close to acquiring Glen Kamara from Scottish powerhouse Rangers.
The two parties are nearing an agreement for a permanent transfer for a sum of between £2.5 and £5 million, and the 27-year-old is expected to
become Daniel Farke’s newest signing. The most recent information is that personal terms have already been agreed upon, and Leeds and Rangers
are eager to close a deal as soon as possible while the transfer market is still open.
Kamara joined Rangers in 2019 from Dundee United and has since made 193 appearances for the Glasgow based side. He has also been on the books
of Southend United, Colchester United and Arsenal where he made a solitary appearance for in the EFL Cup against Sheffield Wednesday.
Leeds are desperate for signings following a summer of upheaval, several key departures have left Daniel Farke having to rebuild his side as the
season continues to gain momentum. There are still issues such as the ongoing Wilfred Gnonto saga as well as question marks over the likes of
Patrick Bamford and several other key players as the deadline fast approaches. It is clear that the Elland Road side will be active in the window in the
remaining days and could well spring a few surprises as they look at all available options to strengthen the squad following a difficult start which has
seen them win only one of their first four games.

Leeds desperately need reinforcements and it’s good to see them close to signing another one. This should allow them to move on and look at other
areas of the squad rather than have their attention pulled in too many directions. The pursuit of O’Brien from Nottingham Forrest looks to have
complicated with more sides in the running and there are still huge questions to answer. This last few days are set to be a busy time.

Leeds United have the “necessary funds” available to complete their long-pursued deal for Glen Kamara, according to Phil Hay.
The Athletic journalist reported via the outlet’s website Monday (28 August) that the Whites have been monitoring the Finland international
midfielder at Rangers for “several weeks” and can now afford to sign him before the deadline.
Leeds spent big last week to bring in Joel Piroe from Swansea City in a deal worth up to £16million [Hay, 24 August] and previously appeared to
be struggling for funds after a slew of low-cost loan exits, prior to the sale of Tyler Adams to Bournemouth for north of £20m [Athletic, 20 August].
Fabrizio Romano reported an “official bid” going in to Ibrox on Sunday and it appears the club have the cash to ensure success from negotiations,
with Daniel Farke needing further additions to his midfield before the window shuts.
A fee of £5.5m had been tipped to get another late deal done with Rangers, as the Whites battle rival interest from the likes of Middlesbrough and
Coventry City.
If the money is there and so is the intent then there is no reason for this move to be delayed any longer from the Leeds United end.
Unless Rangers are hoping for a bidding war to push the price up on deadline day then it appears that the 27-year-old should be Elland Road-bound
imminently.
However, that has seemed the case for some weeks and the Yorkshire Evening Post’s Graham Smyth (24 August) has admitted proceedings have been
“weird” with regards to this deal, as interest looks to have see-sawed up and down.
Kamara isn’t playing at all in Michael Beale’s overhauled Rangers side and Leeds United are in major need of further additions to the midfield, so for
a relatively reasonable fee it seems straight forward.
But with other clubs in the running and the move still not done with just a few days left before the window shuts it is impossible to bank on it unless
or until it is announced.
Farke was said to view the Ibrox man as his first-choice target, and while the club are going after a few midfielders in the final days it seems strange
that this one still hasn’t yet been sealed.
