news now: “wonderkid” Gabriel Magalhaes was impressed with the 20-year-old Arsenal player on international duty.

Arsenal defender Gabriel Magalhaes has now congratulated his countryman Marquinhos on his latest feat with Brazil.

Marquinhos, who is currently on loan at FC Nantes, won the Pan American Games with Brazil’s under-23 team yesterday.

The Arsenal winger has been away at the tournament in recent weeks, and he played in Brazil’s final victory over Chile.

After such an accomplishment, the 20-year-old took to Instagram to share a celebratory photo.

Marquinhos posted a photo on Instagram with the caption “Champion,” and Gabriel was quick to congratulate his Arsenal teammate.

Gabriel left a comment that translates to “You’re a tough kid.”

And it must have been a welcome distraction for the centre-back in the aftermath of Newcastle United’s defeat.

Gabriel played 90 minutes as Mikel Arteta’s team was defeated in the second half by a controversial winner.

And, while Arteta was upset with the officials, Alan Shearer thought he was barking up the wrong tree.

Of course, Arsenal has issued a statement in support of their manager’s comments in the aftermath.

Gabriel praised his Arsenal teammate Marquinhos.
Despite Arsenal’s poor form, Marquinhos has his sights set on other things this season.

His season-long loan in France hasn’t started off well, as he’s mostly been limited to a substitute role.

But, with the number 10 shirt on his back and a medal with Brazil in his hands, Marquinhos will undoubtedly hope for a bigger role in the future.

It will be extremely difficult for Marquinhos to break into the Arsenal first team alongside Gabriel when he returns.

However, both Edu Gaspar and Arteta clearly saw something in the youngster that they liked.

And, given Arsenal’s current lack of quality in attacking areas, Marquinhos may believe he can eventually make a difference.

Nonetheless, after a difficult season at Norwich City, the 20-year-old will need to concentrate on making consistent progress this season.

And, like Charlie Patino, his future will be determined when he returns.
