Jurgen Klopp said fans should be ashamed if they directed chants at Liverpool fans that indirectly referenced the Hillsborough disaster during his team’s game at Luton.

Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher also spoke out against the chants, saying, “We’re better than that.”
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has previously spoken out against ‘tragedy chanting’ between rival fans, and the Football Association issued a new charter outlining rules for dealing with the issue in July.
It came after a Manchester United fan was arrested during last season’s FA Cup final for wearing a shirt that mocked the Hillsborough victims.
After the Luton game, Klopp stated that he did not hear the chanting, which occurred shortly after halftime while the game was still goalless, but added, “Shame on everyone who said it.”
“At the start of the season, I was involved in something with supporters coming together about tragedy chanting,” Carragher said on Sky Sports.
But in the world we live in now, I believe we’re better than that.” I’ve only heard that a few times in this game. There is no doubt that rivalry exists among supporters. But we’re not like that.
“It happened twice or three times during the game.” At various times throughout the years, all clubs have been guilty of this.

Liverpool earned a dramatic point five minutes into extra time when substitute Luis Diaz cancelled out Tahith Chong’s goal for Luton in the 80th minute.
