NEW : With a ‘hint’ on the club website, Klopp may have unintentionally divulged that a 26-year-old English starlet is departing.

After a poor fifth-place finish in the Premier League last season, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is currently in the midst of a significant

team makeover.

The Reds have already spent a combined £90 million on Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai, and it is anticipated that they will

add more players, perhaps for the midfield or the center back position.

James Milner, Roberto Firmino, Naby Keita, and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain were among the senior players that Klopp permitted to leave

the club after their contracts expired last month.

This summer, as Klopp tries to clear space in his roster and earn money for transfers, there might be more departures.

Phillips may have been accidentally identified by the Merseyside club as the next player to leave Anfield when  when releasing their new

away kit for the 2023/24 campaign.

There is no option on the club website to select the defender’s name on the back of the shirt, unlike the rest of the senior squad.

Phillips might depart Liverpool this summer.

The 26-year-old Phillips has had difficulty getting into games lately, making just two Premier League appearances in the previous two

campaigns.

He was on loan at Bournemouth for a portion of the 2021–22 season, and last summer there were rumors of him leaving Liverpool.

Klopp earlier referred to the Bolton-born center back as a “monster,” but he was kept at the team to provide cover in defense.

This summer, he has apparently been linked with a move away from Anfield, with relegated Leeds United reportedly eager to sign him to

an Elland Road contract.

Phillips has made 29 senior appearances for Liverpool, the majority of which came in the 2020–21 season when the Reds experienced a

defensive injury problem. The Dutch side Feyenoord is reportedly also interested in Phillips.

In addition, keen-eyed supporters may have noted that Kaide Gordon was listed as a selectable option on the shirts, indicating that Klopp

may have intentions for him in the forthcoming campaign.

The 18-year-old winger will likely resume full training the following week after missing 17 months due to a pelvic injury.

On Wednesday, Liverpool plays their first preseason friendly against the German team Karlsruher.
