An extremely talented eighteen-year-old who plays for Corinthians is named Gabriel Moscardo.
But following a very successful season in Brazil, Premier League clubs are eager to get him, so that might soon change.
Liverpool and Barcelona are interested in the 18-year-old, but Chelsea has taken the most decisive action to entice him to England.
The Blues failed in their “formal, official bid” of €21 million (£18.4 million) fixed in August, but it hasn’t dampened their desire.
Barca is unable to pay the £22 million needed to persuade Corinthians to let go of the gifted adolescent.
According to remarks from the Brazilian made public by Fabrizio Romano, the player is aware of Chelsea’s interest, but his father is more knowledgeable about the specifics of that interest.
Speaking about Chelsea’s interest in him amid the Premier League’s desire to sign him, Gabriel Moscardo
“I can confirm that there was interest from Chelsea a few months ago, strong interest… but I want to help Corinthians get out of this situation,” the Brazilian midfielder stated.
“To be honest with you, my father knows a few things, but I don’t know a lot.”
Moscardo alludes to Corinthians’ standing in the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A when he states that he wants “to help Corinthians get out of this situation”.
Only four points separate his team’s current position in 14th place from the relegation zone, where four teams are demoted and promoted at the end of each Brazilian season.
With only four games left for the Sao Paulo-based team, the number “four” appears to be a reoccurring numeral here.
