Mohamed Salah could replace Lionel Messi now that he has left. Robbie Fowler also puts Real Madrid in the running as Liverpool sends ‘nailed on’ transfer warning to PSG.

Paris Saint-Germain has been warned that a deal for Mohamed Salah is “nailed on” now that Lionel Messi is leaving France, according to Liverpool.

Former Liverpool striker Fowler stated in The Mirror that “[Robert] Lewandowski looks like he’ll finish his career at Barcelona, while there’s no way I can see [Erling] Haaland or [Kylian] Mbappe] being available this summer, or any time soon,” despite the fact that Salah’s prolific goal-scoring record makes him of obvious interest to any team on the planet. The only players left are [Harry] Kane, Salah, and Neymar, if anyone is foolish enough to bet on a guy who appears to be done with football. Four of the top clubs in the world are united in their pursuit of the assurance of goals. And two English football attackers who over the past seven years have delivered them beautifully. There will be one heck of a fight.

Salah is the only player I bring up because I’ve believed for a few months that he may be targeted this summer. It wouldn’t surprise me in the least if both Real Madrid and PSG make moves for him, with the French club seemingly destined to do so. He has a lengthy contract, and the club has shown in recent years that it won’t be pushed to sell unless it’s on its own terms, so I don’t believe Liverpool fans need to worry too much. That said, it was concerning when he said at the end of the season that he was distraught that they didn’t place in the top four and that there was no justification for it. That didn’t sound right to me.
