Luis Sinisterra made a big impression during Leeds United’s first summer preseason match against Manchester United on
Wednesday.
This week, Daniel Farke’s Whites played for the first time as they traveled to Norway to rekindle their rivalry with
Manchester United.
Obviously, the results of preseason friendlies don’t matter all that much in the big picture, but player performances and the
team’s general composition do.
So, when Luis Sinisterra puts in a very strong performance on the left wing, it’s something for Leeds fans to get very excited
about.
Here, we look at two reasons why Leeds have to do everything to keep the Colombian at Elland Road this summer…
Aaron Wan-Bissaka is one of the best 1v1 defenders in Europe, and he was backing off Sinisterra a lot during that first half in
Oslo.
The winger has the talent to pose a threat to almost any full-back he faces, let alone if he comes into the Championship
against a lower level of opponent.
Add to that potency in the final third and you have one of the best players in the division. Hands down.
Having that sort of player in your side immediately boosts your chances of achieving promotion at the end of the season.
Injury-prone or not, Sinisterra will be worth a great deal of money to Leeds, but that isn’t an opinion that will be shared by
clubs across Europe.
The year he had in the Premier League showed his quality, but it also showed he couldn’t stay fit, and that’s such a gamble.
It’s especially a gamble to clubs when they face the hefty asking price that Leeds will be able to command this summer.
Therefore, if Leeds end up letting him go, it’ll be at a discount to what he should be worth.
