Malcolm Brogdon reportedly angry with Celtics

The Boston Celtics appear to have aggravated The Professor.

Gary Washburn of the Boston Globe reported this week on Malcolm Brodgon’s situation with Boston.

In an appearance on CLNS Media’s “Celtics Beat” podcast, Washburn said that Brogdon is “angry” with the Celtics after a failed trade this offseason.

“He’s angry with the team,” said Washburn of Brogdon.

“I don’t think that communication between the two sides has been fruitful … Malcolm Brogdon was not happy about the deal, being potentially dealt.

He was pissed … I think he understands, but [it] doesn’t mean he’s not upset about it. I was told he was not happy with how things went down.”

The Celtics agreed to trade Brogdon, the reigning Sixth Man of the Year, to the LA Clippers as part of a three-team deal in June (with big man Kristaps Porzingis heading back to Boston).

But that trade was jettisoned after the Clippers backed out due to a major health concern with Brogdon.

The Celtics worked out a three-team deal with the Memphis Grizzlies in the Clippers’ place instead and still got Porzingis (albeit with Marcus Smart going off to Memphis).

Meanwhile though, Brogdon is still on the Celtics roster months later, creating an awkward situation as training camp nears.

Brogdon had a stellar 14.9 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 3.7 assists per game in Boston last season.

But even before the agreed-upon trade with the Clippers, there were strong rumors that the Celtics wanted to move on from Brogdon.

It sounds like Brogdon knows exactly where he stands with the team and does not like it one bit.

During his time with the Sacramento Kings, Indiana Pacers star Tyrese Haliburton was teammates with some great players. He ran alongside guys like De’Aaron Fox, Harrison Barnes, and others.

Boston Celtics sign former Tyrese Haliburton teammate Neemias Queta

According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, the Boston Celtics have signed former King and Haliburton teammate Neemias Queta to a two-way contract. The big man will now be in the East.

The Kings released Queta a few days prior to the move, along with Nerlens Noel. They made the move in tandem with their signing of JaVale McGee, as their center rotation is now Sabonis, Alex Len, and McGee.

Queta spent just half a season with Haliburton in Sacramento before the latter got traded to the Pacers. During his time there, Haliburton once called Queta a “fan favorite.”

While he was never able to earn regular minutes in the Kings rotation, Queta was one of the best players in the G League, dominating during his time with the Stockton Kings.

Over the course of two G League seasons, Queta averaged 16.7 points, 8.3 rebounds, 2.2 assists, and 1.9 blocks per game while shooting 66.7% from the field. This past season, he was the G League MVP runner-up.
