The Liverpool player Luis Diaz’s season can effectively be divided into two parts.
An electrifying winger who was the Reds’ finest player in the first few months of the Premier League season is the focal point of the first half.
Diaz was one of whose efforts didn’t flag as Jurgen Klopp’s team fought to leave the specter of the previous 63-game term, Diaz was one of few whose efforts did not drop.
In August, a superb single effort against Crystal Palace at home prevented Liverpool’s 10-man team from losing the game at Anfield right away.
Later that month, he scored twice in a 9-0 thrashing of Bournemouth. He scored five goals in the first month of the season, but one excellent goal was merely a consolation in a 4-1 loss against Napoli in early September. However, a knee injury sustained in a collision with Thomas Partey on October 10 during a 3-2 loss to Arsenal all but ended his season.
Diaz appeared to be on the verge of a post-Christmas comeback after forgoing days off in favor of additional recovery treatment at the club’s AXA Training Centre after reporting for duty on the team’s mid-season trip to Dubai. However, he had a breakdown during a preliminary session in the Middle East and was promptly taken home to have surgery in Merseyside, which effectively rendered him ineligible for a further three months.
