Jude Bellingham’s transfer saga is almost over after Borussia Dortmund announced they had reached an agreement with Real Madrid on a price.
The England international’s future has been the subject of much speculation for the better part of two years, but despite strong interest from the likes of Liverpool and Manchester City during this time, the lure to become the latest Galactico at the Bernabeu has won out.
Having dropped their interest in Bellingham back in early April, Liverpool was aware they would not be signing the Borussia Dortmund star for some time. There were rumors that they had been priced out of the transfer as a result, meaning they would be missing the Champions League for the first time since 2016. In the meantime, it became evident that the Reds needed more than one marquee signing in midfield as their disastrous season unraveled.
