The return to full team practice of midfielders Stefan Bajcetic and Thiago Alcantara has given Liverpool a double injury benefit.
Once the majority of the team returned from the preseason tour of Singapore last week, the two were supposed to take the newest step in their recovery from long-term injuries.
The Reds began their season-preparation efforts over the weekend at Kirkby, when both teenagers Bajcetic and Thiago were put to the test.
Both are not expected to be in the running for playing time in Liverpool’s last preseason match against Bundesliga team SV Darmstadt on Monday night at Preston North End’s Deepdale stadium.
However, Jurgen Klopp has seen his midfield options curtailed as a result of the recent exits of both Fabinho and Jordan Henderson, so their return to full training is a huge relief.
Thiago hasn’t started a game since February due to a hip condition that necessitated surgery in April, while Bajcetic has been absent since March after having his breakout season cut short by an adductor injury.
Conor Bradley, who started the first two preseason games, was injured and was unable to travel to the Far East. He will miss the Darmstadt game, although his problem is not thought to be serious.

Andre Trindade absent from Fluminense squad amid Liverpool links
Andre Trindade was absent from Fluminense’s squad last night amid growing reports that Liverpool are interested in signing the midfielder.
The 22-year-old was not part of the Brazilian side’s squad yesterday as Fluminense took on Palmeiras in league action as reports continue to mount that Andre is heading to the Premier League this summer with Liverpool.
Despite the coincidence, the real reason Andre was absent was due to the midfielder picking up a yellow card suspension in Fluminense’s last match against league rivals Santos.
As reported by Netflu, the Brazilian side are internally aware that Liverpool could soon make a bid to sign Andre, with the Reds keen to bring in at least two midfielders before the closure of the window.
Lauded as ‘incredible’ by A Bola, the 22-year-old would be an exciting addition to Liverpool’s ranks, with Andre considered one of the best midfielders in all of South America.
Indeed, whilst Andre’s absence last night is not linked to anything transfer related, missing one game could have helped Liverpool make some progress in a deal to sign the youngster from the Brazilian side.
Liverpool have to do all they can to sign Andre as quickly as possible
Liverpool’s transfer progress all fronts seems to have stalled in recent days, which is why it could be important if the Reds could now do all they can to sign Andre as quickly as possible.
Midfielders are in need ahead of Liverpool’s opening day of the Premier League season, and Andre could be a dream signing for the Reds for both next week and the years to come.
Whilst the logistics of signing a non-European-based player are always challenging, Liverpool have the power to bring in Andre in a timely manner, with the clock now ticking for the Reds.
