Liverpool fans have been heartbroken by FABRIZIO ROMANO’s terrible news concerning Luis Diaz and Mohammed Salah Due To The Decision They Made About…

Mohamed Salah ‘will get a giant offer’ to leave Liverpool in 2024

Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah is set to receive a “giant offer” to leave Anfield in 2024.

Liverpool star Mohamed Salah could receive a “giant offer” to leave Anfield in 2024, and journalist Ben Jacobs is considering which clubs could potentially acquire the forward’s signature in the new year.

Reds boss Jurgen Klopp dismissed speculation in September 2023 that the winger could leave Merseyside soon.

However, interest in the Liverpool talisman has not disappeared as we edge towards 2024, with several clubs from across the globe considering a move for the attacker.

Salah is enjoying another impressive campaign in the Premier League but may feel that his time at Anfield is nearing its natural conclusion.

Salah’s future still uncertain

In the summer of 2017, Klopp was just beginning to build his Liverpool dynasty, having arrived at Anfield less than two years earlier.

Little did the Reds know that they would be signing a future club legend when they signed Salah from AS Roma in June in a deal worth £34.3m.

The Egyptian international won three Premier League Golden Boot awards and two Player of the Year awards in England. In terms of club honours, Salah helped Liverpool secure their first top-flight title in over 30 years during the 2019/20 campaign, as well as the Champions League, FIFA Club World Cup, Super Cup, FA Cup, Carabao Cup, and Community Shield during his time on Merseyside.

However, during the 2023 summer transfer window, the attacker’s future came into question, with Saudi Pro League representatives desperate to bring him to the Middle East. On the Premier League’s transfer deadline day, Saudi Arabian champions Al-Ittihad submitted a £150m offer to sign Salah, which Liverpool swiftly rejected.

The Asian Champions League participants, then managed by Nuno Espirito Santo, had planned to submit an eye-watering £200m offer to persuade the former Chelsea man to leave Merseyside.

But an offer never came, though there have been suggestions that they could return with a new offer for Salah. On 4th November, Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth told GIVEMESPORT that Liverpool have no plans to negotiate a deal for the 31-year-old during the 2024 winter transfer window.

Ben Jacobs update – Mohamed Salah

Jacobs claims that Saudi representatives will return for Salah and suggests that it could be either Al-Ittihad or Al Hilal who make a play for his services. The journalist has also claimed that the Reds would love Salah to extend his current contract, which expires in the summer of 2025. Jacobs told GIVEMESPORT:

“Liverpool would love Salah to extend his contract, but he will not be short of options in 2024. We know that the Saudi side will be back. That’s the first thing to say. It might be Al-Ittihad, but it could also be Al Hilal because the clubs are pretty changeable within Saudi Arabia.

“So, Salah will get a giant offer from Saudi for 2024, that much we know. Liverpool are braced for that. But Liverpool are also just not going to roll over and let a top player leave if they think that there’s a chance that he might extend a little bit longer. If Salah were to engage with Liverpool, it would be very defined and could be a type of deal whereby he could sign, and there could be a number that still allows him to go, or he could sign, and there could be a mechanism for him to talk to other clubs.”

Liverpool transfer news

Salah’s future isn’t necessarily away from Liverpool, despite rumours that he could be tempted with a move to Saudi Arabia should the offer arrive in 2024.

The Athletic’s David Ornstein feels that the forward’s departure from Anfield isn’t “set in stone” and hints that there are suggestions he’d like to stay and continue to play at the highest level in Europe.

Regarding incomings, O Jogo reports that Liverpool are one of several clubs interested in Benfica midfielder Joao Neves. The Portuguese giants are sensing an opportunity, as they did with Enzo Fernandez’s move to Chelsea, demanding that buyers pay his £104m release clause.

Meanwhile, BILD claims that Liverpool have entered the race to sign Bayern Munich and Germany winger Leroy Sane. The 27-year-old’s contract with the Bundesliga giants expires in the summer of 2025, hinting that the Bavarian outfit could look to move him on imminently if he is reluctant to commit to his future at the Allianz Arena.

Liverpool return from the international break later this month and, on the 25th, will face the unenviable task of trying to topple Manchester City, the league leaders and current treble holders, at the Etihad Stadium.

The Reds close the month on the 30th when they welcome Austrian outfit LASK Linz to Anfield. A win would secure their progression to the knockout stages of the Europa League.

Over the years, the Premier League has been home to some of the best midfielders in the world. Patrick Vieira, Frank Lampard, Steven Gerrard, Roy Keane and Paul Scholes are just some of the names that come to mind when discussing those who have patrolled the middle of the park since the league’s inception ahead of the 1992/93 season.

That quintet, of course, have long since retired, and there is now a new batch of star names in England’s top tier.

The Premier League is the top league in the world, and thus, some of the very best talents on the planet tend to flock in the division’s direction.

There is a vast array of talented midfield players plying their trade in England’s top flight, and picking the best of the bunch is not an easy task by any means.

But who are the current top 10 midfielders in the division? We have attempted to answer that question, starting with 10th place and moving up the ranking. However, be warned – this list is only our opinion and is not definitive.

A whole host of factors have been taken into consideration when formulating the below list – with importance to their team, goals, assists, and overall impact on games – and it also has to be considered that some midfielders are more defensive-minded, while others are tasked with making more telling contributions going the other way.

Moises Caicedo really took the Premier League by storm in the 2022/23 campaign, seemingly coming out of nowhere to quickly become one of the best midfielders in England. The former Brighton & Hove Albion star led the club in terms of tackles, interceptions, possession won and duels won in a game last season, highlighting how influential his defensive ability in the middle of the park was to the Seagulls’ success.

It’s not just his defensive work that stands out, though, with Caicedo’s passing accuracy last season (88.9%) the best of any midfielder in the Premier League aside from Rodri. Chelsea swooped in during the summer 2023 transfer window to make the Ecuadorian the most expensive signing in Premier League history with a £115 million deal being struck. Caicedo endured a slow start to life at Stamford Bridge and this is why he finds himself at the bottom of this list.

9Enzo Fernández

In an otherwise disastrous 2022/23 season for Chelsea, Enzo Fernández was a bright spark in the middle of the park at Stamford Bridge following his arrival in January. After seriously impressing at Benfica earlier in the season, the Blues snapped the 22-year-old up for an eye-watering £106.8m, and there have been early glimpses of him at least somewhat justifying that transfer fee.

His incredible vision, paired with a supreme passing ability make him crucial to Mauricio Pochettino’s side going forward. Before his move to London in January, Fernandez led Liga Portugal in successful long-balls, and it’s that ability to find his teammates from just about anywhere that makes him such an impressive talent in the middle of the park. He was also crucial to Argentina’s World Cup success in December 2022, but he is yet to bring that form into his displays in a Chelsea shirt.

8James Maddison

Leicester struggled throughout the 2022/23 season and eventually met their fate with relegation, but James Maddison has been a bright spark almost throughout.

This caught the interest of Tottenham, who quickly swooped in and captured the England international during the summer of 2023. The 26-year-old’s goal and assist output have slowly increased over the past few years, and he managed 12 and eight respectively during the 2022/23 season, a career-best among the elite on both counts.

His performances, especially those towards the end of the campaign, even earned him a spot in Gareth Southgate’s England squad for the World Cup in Qatar.

Maddison has started his Spurs career in scintillating form – with plenty of goal contributions – as he has become one of the most important parts of Ange Postecoglou’s plans before injury struck to rule him out for months. That, however, doesn’t stop him from taking a place in the Premier League’s Team of the Season so far.

7Dominik Szoboszlai

This is the entrant with the least experience in the Premier League as of right now. However, Dominik Szoboszlai has hit the ground running in England’s top tier. He has adapted to Liverpool’s style of play seamlessly in a very short space of time, with his pace and work rate in the middle of the park taking many by surprise along with his well-documented technical ability.

Having arrived from RB Leipzig for £60 million during the summer of 2023, Liverpool were keen to bring in midfield reinforcements to bolster their title challenge for the 2023/24 campaign and the Hungary captain is a proven winner.

For each season during his senior career, Szoboszlai has won a trophy of some kind, providing the sort of mentality that manager Jürgen Klopp will be looking for with his new signings.

During the 2022/23 campaign, the 23-year-old scored 10 goals and provided 13 assists in 46 appearances for Leipzig, and is known for having a bullet of a right foot, along with an eye for goal. More importantly, other than a serious abductor injury picked up during the 2020/21 season for RB Salzburg, Szoboszlai’s injury record appears to be fairly clean, which is a huge plus for Liverpool.

6Casemiro

Given that Casemiro won everything there is to win at Real Madrid and played in a midfield trio including Luka Modric and Toni Kroos for years at the Santiago Bernabeu, you have to wonder why some were so eager to criticise the Brazil international as he initially adapted to a new country and league.

It wasn’t long before the 31-year-old began to exert his influence both on the Red Devils and the rest of the Premier League during his debut season in England, which is hardly surprising considering he made over 300 appearances for one of the best clubs in the world before his move to these shores.

After years of underwhelming displays from United’s midfield, Casemiro, along with Christian Eriksen, gave Erik ten Hag’s outfit a strong identity in 2022/23, even if it is a shame that the duo are both closer to the end of their careers than the start.

Time does look to perhaps be catching up on the Brazilian, unfortunately, with his stats this year lagging behind the numbers he put up last term, and the pace of the Premier League could be an issue for him going forward.

5Martin Odegaard

For years, it seemed as if Martin Odegaard would fail to deliver on the early promise that saw him become Real Madrid’s youngest-ever player and the youngest goalscorer in the Norwegian top flight at the age of just 15.

However, strong loan spells at Heerenveen and Real Sociedad gave him a platform to showcase his ability, and Arsenal moved to sign him permanently after a short stint on loan for the second part of the 2020/21 season.

He has only been at the Emirates Stadium for over two years, yet is already the club captain and one of the Premier League’s best players. As the Gunners mounted an unlikely title challenge in his first season with the armband, Odegaard was the orchestrator of many of their attacks.

He is at home playing under Mikel Arteta, and the £30m Arsenal paid for his services looks to have been an absolute bargain. Having said that, the opening few months of the 2023/24 season have been slightly underwhelming with the added pressure of opposing teams employing every tactic they can in order to shut down the Norwegian’s creativity.

4Bruno Fernandes

There are few midfielders that have joined the Premier League and made the impact that Bruno Fernandes has at United, maybe ever.

The Portuguese star, who moved to Old Trafford in January 2020, has been a major success for the Red Devils, providing a bucket load of both goals and assists. His first full season in the Premier League saw the midfielder score 18 goals and bag 11 assists from the centre of midfield.

His offensive flair has been crucial for a side that’s lacked a little firepower as of late, and it’s hard to imagine where the club would have wound up if it wasn’t for his impact in midfield.

Having reached double figures for goals in all four of his seasons in Manchester so far, his impact on the team is only set to increase this year, with the 28-year-old recently being appointed United’s first-team captain.

3Declan Rice

It is sometimes easy to forget that Declan Rice is just 24 years of age given the leadership and authority he displays on the field. Without him, West Ham would probably not be a European outfit this term.

He became a key player for his side after making his debut in east London, and is unsurprisingly included in their greatest ever academy XI.

He has always been blessed with strength and a strong understanding of the game, but his clear improvement in possession is the result of hard work and dedication.

Having ended his Hammers career with a Europa Conference League win in Prague, Rice made the decision to join a title-challenging side in the form of Arsenal.

The Gunners faced stiff competition to sign the Englishman from other top clubs, but Arteta’s side securing his signature could be the transfer that propels the North London side from title-pretenders to Champions for the first time in two decades.

2Rodri

One of two City players at the top of this list, Rodri has barely been out of the side since his switch to the Etihad Stadium from Atlético Madrid in 2019. City had been looking for a long-term replacement for Fernandinho, and in the Spain international, they found their man.

Playing in a Diego Simeone team was perhaps the perfect preparation for the physicality of the Premier League, and Rodri has rarely, if ever, looked out of place.

Despite being a defensive midfielder, he still managed to contribute four goals and five assists for his side in the 2022/23 season, including the crucial winning goal in the Champions League final to seal the historic treble.

Rodri is one of the best defensive-minded midfielders in the world, as not only can the Spanish anchor dictate the tempo of the game from deep, but he can also get stuck in and break up a good deal of opposition counter-attacks. This gives the players ahead of him more of a license to get forward and be more free. Speaking of the midfielders that play in front of Rodri…
