Liverpool are reportedly tempted to activate Ibrahim Sangare’s €37m (£32m) release clause, with the PSV Eindhoven star a firm target for the Reds.
According to the Eindhovens Dagblad, the Merseyside giants are strongly considering a move for the Ivory Coast international, with Liverpool
running out of defensive midfield options in the market.
Romeo Lavia and Moises Caicedo are now close to joining Chelsea, with Liverpool in desperate need of signing a new no. 6 having started yesterday’s
Premier League opener without a recognised player in the position.
As a result, Sangare has now emerged as a real option for Liverpool, with the Eredivisie star regarded by many as one of the best midfielders in
Europe not playing in a top-five league.
Lauded by Breaking The Lines as a ‘midfield powerhouse’, Sangare could be a dream fit for Liverpool given his incredible technical abilities and
physical presence.
And at £32m, Sangare could present incredible value in the market, with Liverpool in need of signing a defensive midfielder who can come in this
week and slot in instantly.
Liverpool have to move for Sangare at once
Liverpool’s search for a defensive midfielder has been nothing short of a farce this summer, yet signing Sangare could prove to be an excellent piece
of business for the Reds.
The 24-year-old has been one of PSV’s best players in the last two seasons, and Sangare is ready for a move to one of Europe’s elite, with Liverpool in
need of a midfielder of the Ivorian’s calibre.
Moreover, with a release clause of £32m being dangled in front of Liverpool, a bargain is there to be made if the Anfield side are smart enough to take
the bait and to bring the midfielder to Merseyside in the coming days.
