Khephren Thuram of OGC Nice has been contacted by Liverpool as they attempt to bolster their team more, although according to a report, negotiations with the player and the club are at different levels.
Alexis Mac Allister joined the Reds on Thursday, completing a cheap transfer with a cost as low as £35 per player, according to reports.
The focus has already shifted to the next step, and Thuram and Manu Kone of Borussia Monchengladbach are two candidates who have already spoken with their respective representatives.
Last week, David Lynch of Football Insider corroborated stories from France and Germany by confirming this.
Get French Football News has confirmed reports that Liverpool have made “numerous steps forward” in negotiations with Thuram. The two are now training for this summer’s under-21 Euros with France.
Although their words are not infallible, they claim that the 22-year-old has found the Reds to have “demonstrated themselves to be very convincing,” and that they anticipate having no trouble coming to terms on a personal level.
Thuram, the son of renowned France midfielder Lilian, was the subject of two meetings between the club and Nice that were reportedly “fundamentally negative” and “little to no interest” in negotiations.
There is still time for this to alter, and Thuram, who has yet to request a relocation, could force their hand.
However, it may mean that Liverpool will have to postpone a signing that is expected to cost money until after the conclusion of France’s U21 Euro campaign.
