JUSTNOW: “Liverpool come in,” as Klopp plans to recruit a “important” player for £50 million.
Liverpool signed four midfielders in the summer transfer window but they are still looking to further reinforce the department.
As per Christian Falk, Klopp is plotting a move to sign German international and Bayern Munich midfielder, Joshua Kimmich.
News – Report – Liverpool call family rep to sign £25.6million player
The renowned journalist, who is the Head of Football for Bild/SportBild stated:
“He’s in the final year of his deal at Bayern and they would like to celebrate a purchase price rather than lose him for free,“
“They could lose if he does not extend. And that’s where Manchester City and Liverpool come in. Thiago is always injured at Liverpool FC and his contract is running out, Henderson has left, there is a bit of space in midfield and Jurgen Klopp of course knows how important Kimmich is.“
“Schmadtke, the sporting director, has good connections in the Bundesliga. So, Klopp is also now in the race for Kimmich.“
The 28-year-old is one of the best deep lying midfielders in the world and he has won every major title with the Bavarians.
The 82-capped star can effectively operate in the right back role as well and this season, so far, he has netted a goal and provided 6 assists for Bayern under Thomas Tuchel.
Kimmich has the quality and the experience to improve any squad in the world and would be an ideal replacement for Thiago, who has not played a single game for the Reds this season.
Reports this month have indicated that the German star, who will turn 29 in just over two weeks would cost £50m this month and around £25m in the summer (The Star):

Cody Gakpo and Curtis Jones filmed LAUGHING at Jordan Pickford error in Liverpool game
Liverpool have got the better of rivals Everton on many an occasion in recent Merseyside Derby match-ups, with two of their current squad members seeing the funny side
(
Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford has suffered plenty of frustrating moments against rivals Liverpool, with Reds fans enjoying themselves watching them back, but it appears some of Liverpool’s players have the same reaction.
Perhaps the highest-profile Pickford slip-up came in December 2018, when his misjudgement of a high ball allowed Liverpool’s Divock Origi to take advantage and score a late winner in the Merseyside Derby. That wasn’t the only such example, though.
A little under a year earlier, Everton and Liverpool were drawn together in the FA Cup. It was Virgil van Dijk’s debut for the Reds, and the centre-back took advantage of more Pickford misery to score a late winner.
Neither Curtis Jones nor Cody Gakpo had made their Liverpool debut at the time, but the pair were given a chance to watch it while ranking their team’s best cup goals. And any attempts at calm were quickly pushed to one side as they couldn’t help but laugh as Pickford’s complete failure to claim a corner.
Jones begins by praising the firmness of Van Dijk’s header as the Dutch international powers the ball hope. Van Dijk’s international colleague Gakpo sees the goal differently, though.
“What is the goalie doing, mate?” he asks with a laugh. Jones briefly continues praising the goalscorer, before agreeing with Gakpo and twice asking “what is he doing?”.
Van Dijk’s winner helped end a stalemate between the two Merseyside clubs that season, with both league games ending all-square. It wasn’t enough to set up a long cup run for Jurgen Klopp’s team, though, with West Brom eliminating them in the very next round.

After claiming victory over Arsenal in the third round, Liverpool will continue this season’s cup push with a home meeting with Norwich – managed by his old friend David Wagner – on Sunday. They go into the game with one Wembley final already assured, after beating Fulham 3-2 on aggregate in the semi-finals of the Carabao Cup,
“I enjoy a lot and we had already conversations about it,” Klopp said when asked about Wagner. “He asked me for massive rotation! I told him that doesn’t help, obviously!
“[He did a] really good job but a really difficult job. I think the start of the season was really good and then they lose more or less their offensive department and that’s when they struggled a bit. Now they are in touching distance of the play-off spots.
“They obviously have big games coming up,” he added. “So, the Championship season itself is already pretty intense but if you have a longer FA Cup run in it, it’s obviously very similar to a very successful Premier League season with international football or something like that, because of the amount of teams in the league and the amount of games you have.”

Jürgen Klopp to use neuroscience company for Liverpool’s Carabao Cup final preparations
Klopp, who first invited neuro11 to Liverpool camp before 2021-22 season, exploring options to beat Chelsea
Liverpool’s Carabao Cup final preparations will again involve working with the German neuroscience company neuro11 as Jürgen Klopp explores all options for beating Chelsea.
Klopp first invited neuro11, which helps players focus on penalties, free-kicks and other set pieces with “accuracy training”, to Liverpool’s preseason training camp before the 2021-22 season when his team came close to winning the quadruple.
He credited the company’s founders, Dr Niklas Hausler and Patrick Hantschke, with a key role in Liverpool’s Carabao Cup triumph that season after his players converted all 11 penalties in their shoot-out defeat of Chelsea.
The two teams will meet again in this season’s final on February 25th and, as in 2022, Klopp wants neuro11 to put Liverpool’s players through a psychological drill in case penalties are needed.

“They work for us. They were here last week because there was the potential of a penalty shoot-out against Fulham. We will definitely do something before the final. They will be in that week,” Klopp said.
Liverpool remain in pursuit of four trophies this season and, as well as a Carabao Cup final date with Chelsea, have a home FA Cup tie against Norwich to fuel comparisons with the 2021-22 campaign. Norwich were beaten 2-1 in the fifth round at Anfield two years ago and return on Sunday, when Andy Robertson could make his first appearance since dislocating a shoulder and Dominik Szoboszlai should be available having recovered from a hamstring injury.
Klopp, asked whether the experience of the last quadruple chase could benefit the latest, said: “I didn’t think about it, because we are far off having four finals. We qualified for one. But we learned that year it makes no sense to plan the next one if you didn’t even play the first one.
“The competitions are not made so that somebody wins all of them. That’s just how it is because of the number of games. I saw now that if we win on Sunday, the [Carabao Cup] final is on Sunday the 25th and then three days later is the next round of the FA Cup.” – Guardian
