JUST NOW: Supermodel girlfriend and Italian star tennis player call it quits due to…

“We are not together anymore,” Berrettini confirmed in an interview with Italian newspaper Ia Repubblica this week. The 27-year-old player said he has ended his romantic relationship with Satta, who is 10 years older than him, after over a year of dating.

Over the past year, the winner of seven ATP Tour titles has been struggling with injury. Berrettini tried to return earlier this year, but still had to withdraw from the Australian Open due to foot problems. Previously, he spent more than six months treating an abdominal muscle injury, before quitting the 2023 US Open in the second round.

When Berrettini began his relationship with the supermodel, he dropped eight places on the ATP Ranking by January 2023. He is currently ranked 129th and must now play qualifying rounds to enter major tournaments.

Satta is known for her long lines of lovers including many famous sports stars. She was married to Italian striker Christian Vieri, dated the late American basketball star Kobe Bryant and gained large media coverage a few years ago following her complicated relationship with Ghanaian midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng.

Boateng admitted that he lost his form because he had to meet Satta’s high demands for sex. The Italian supermodel herself also confirmed that she made Boateng make love 10 times a week.

The last time Berrettini won the ATP Tour was two years ago. The 2021 Wimbledon runner-up has gone 15 months without reaching a final, missing three of the last seven Grand Slams. He only played 23 matches last season and his best result was reaching the fourth round of Wimbledon.

“I’m focusing on my return to the court. The past few months have been complicated. I want to enjoy tennis again,” he said.

During Berrettini’s decline, Italian tennis found a new star in Jannik Sinner. The 22-year-old has just won his 12th ATP title to become the most successful Italian on the ATP Tour. Sinner also became the first Italian player in over half a century to win the Davis Cup and Grand Slam.

“I keep in touch with Sinner regularly and I’m very happy for him,” Berrettini said. “I knew he had special talent from the first time we met many years ago. Being there to support him at the 2023 Davis Cup was amazing.”
