JUST NOW: Sandro sends a clear warning message to Neal Maupay after Spurs controversy.

Sandro has taken to social media to tell Neal Maupay that the darts celebration belongs to Tottenham.

The clash between Spurs and Brentford was quite emotionally charged, with tackles flying through the 90 minutes and the players getting involved in quite a few altercations.

The Tottenham players evidently did not like it when Maupay used James Maddison’s signature darts celebration after giving the Bees the lead in the first half, with the likes of Brennan Johnson mocking the Frenchman when Spurs completed the turnaround at the start of the second period.

The back and forth between the players continued after the final whistle, with Maddison telling TNT Sports (via BBC Sport) that Maupay was copying his celebration as the Brentford striker had not scored enough goals to come up with his own.

The former Brighton star hit back on social media, pointing out on Instagram that he has more goals and fewer relegations in his career than the Tottenham midfielder.

Sandro leaps to the defence of James Maddison

Sandro has now hit back at the Brentford star, taking to social media to send a message to the 27-year-old.

Tagging Maupay on his Instagram Story, the former Tottenham man wrote: “@nealmaupay this celebration belongs to us. Let this be very clear. Happy to see you back @Madders.”

Spurs Web Opinion

It was great to see the comradery between the Tottenham players and how they all collectively got together to mock Maupey for his celebration.

Having said that, I find this whole episode to be quite cringe-worthy and childish. There was really no need for Maddison and Co to continue this rift after the game.
