JUST NOW: Manchester City offers €100 million for 24-year-old key attacker as a deal nears completion.

Manchester City are keen on signing the Portuguese international attacker Rafael Leao at the end of the season.

The Premier League giants are looking to add more quality and depth in the wide areas and the 24-year-old AC Milan attacker has been identified as a target.

A report from Fichajes claims that they would be willing to offer €100 million for the AC Milan attacker. It remains to be seen whether the Italian outfit are prepared to sanction his departure for that kind of money.

Leao has been a proven performer in Italian football and he could prove to be an exceptional acquisition for Manchester City as well. The 24-year-old has seven goals and eight assists to his name across all competitions this season.

His numbers are likely to improve when he’s playing in a better team in an attacking set-up. Pep Guardiola could help him improve further and fulfil his world-class potential.

The 24-year-old is capable of operating in the wide areas as well as a centre forward.

Manchester City have been overly dependent on Erling Haaland for goals and they need more quality going forward.

Leao will certainly be attracted to the idea of joining a top Premier League club. Manchester City have a proven track record of winning major trophies consistently and the Portuguese international will want to compete at the highest level with them.

Sullivan not happy with Steidten for failed January transfer

Last summer West Ham enjoyed an incredible transfer window in the end, thanks in no small part to the work of technical director, Tim Steidten.

Were it not for his prowess in the final days of the window, it’s unlikely that Edson Alvarez and Mo Kudus at the very least will have signed on the dotted line for the East Londoners.

Along with James Ward-Prowse and to a slightly lesser extent, Dinos Mavropanos, all four have contributed brilliantly to the Hammers season so far.

Though David Moyes’ side have dropped off the pace in the last few games, there’s still plenty of time left this season for it to end successfully.

In a sign that you’re only as good as your next deal, however, Hammers chairman, David Sullivan, is apparently furious with Steidten after the club missed out on a deal in the January window.

According to Football Insider, a well-placed sourced described Sullivan as being “unhappy” with the 44-year-old, though the name of the player concerned isn’t mentioned.

If nothing else, this could well strengthen the German’s resolve to leave the club at the end of the season after apparent fall-outs with David Moyes over transfer targets.

With a potential position opening up at Liverpool, that would be hugely tempting at this point.
