JUST NOW: Following the transfer’s conclusion, Lucas Bergvall will be set for…

Lucas Bergvall has received plenty of praise for his impressive showing in Djurgardens’ 2-0 win over against Skovde on Monday.

The teenager is continuing to turn heads with his displays in Sweden, with the midfielder not looking back since breaking into the Djurgardens first-team last year.

According to reports, the deal Tottenham struck for the 18-year-old last month could rise to £16.4m if certain performance-related add-ons are met (Expressen), with the teenager set to link up with Ange Postecoglou’s squad before the start of next season.

The Lilywhites reportedly saw off competition from the likes of Barcelona (Sport), Eintracht Frankfurt (BILD) as well as Aston Villa and Wolves (Fotboll Direkt) to land the youngster, and he is continuing to show just why he was so highly sought after.

Lucas Bergvall receives rave review after Spurs transfer

On Monday, Bergvall picked up an assist in the Svenska Cup clash against Skovde, making an overlap down the left before picking out Deniz Hummet, who turned the ball home for Djurgardens’ fifth-minute opener.

Reacting to his display, Svenska Fans wrote: “He is currently one of the world’s most talked about young footballers. Something you think could be in his head considering the added pressure – but it rather seems to be something that makes him even better!

“Made one of his best efforts today in blue-striped, albeit against a very weak Skövde. Spinned up the red-clad several times and served several cross balls with terrible precision to his teammates.

“The 18-year-old will be a joy to watch in the spring and showed today once again that he is something very, very special. Got to crown the effort with his assist for Deniz Hummets’ goal.”

It would sometimes be easy for players to drop off their performances once they know that they are leaving the club in the near future. That is particularly common with inexperienced players and happened to Udogie at Udinese.

However, by the sounds of it, Bergvall is continuing to excel for Djurgardens, which says a lot about his commitment and professionalism.

Report backs up claim Gareth Bale has signed pre-agreement to join Spurs

Gareth Bale has reportedly already signed a pre-agreement to join Tottenham at the end of the season when his Real Madrid contract expires, according to TuttoMercatoWeb.

This comes after El Nacional reported last week that Spurs had struck an agreement to bring Bale home again at the end of this season.

Bale spent last term on loan at Spurs, his second spell at the club, making 34 appearances and scoring 16 goals (Transfermakt).

However, the Wales international has struggled on his return to the Bernabeu and has rarely been used by Carlo Ancelotti due to a series of injury setbacks.

But TuttoMercatoWeb claim a third move to Tottenham is on the cards upon the expiry of his current deal with Madrid in the summer.

The report goes on to state that Bale would receive a signing-on bonus from Spurs to make up for the absence of a transfer fee in a potential deal.

It comes after the 32-year-old stated his desperation to reach the World Cup in Qatar towards the end of the year, which could be the final international tournament of his illustrious career (The Athletic).

Spurs Web Opinion

Getting Bale back for a third time would be a good move, even if it would be short-term. He managed to produce on loan last season so he can still do it at the top level. The injury concerns have piled up this term though, but the risk doesn’t seem too bad if the money is there.
