JUST NOW: Brentford manager is furious with what his team allowed Tottenham to achieve last night.

Brentford manager Thomas Frank has now admitted his frustration at his team’s performance at Tottenham Hotspur last night.

Frank’s side started the game extremely well, with both Neal Maupay and Ivan Toney dovetailing around the Spurs’ box.

Tottenham looked sloppy defensively, perhaps unsettled by some game-playing tactics deployed by Maupay throughout.

However, Ange Postecoglou clearly provided a voice of clarity at half-time, with Brennan Johnson sharing what he said to his players.

And in the second half Spurs blew Brentford away, as we’ve often seen with teams visiting North London this season.

Speaking to TNT Sports after the game, Frank was evidently frustrated with how his Brentford side allowed Tottenham to quickly take the game and three points away.

Thomas Frank furious with his Brentford players at Tottenham

Initially discussing Brentford’s promising start at Tottenham, Frank said: “I think except for the ten minute blackout at the start of the second half, I think we did very well.

“I think the first half was first class, the way we pressed high aggressively – man on man, the low block, the way we countered, I think we could have actually scored a goal more if we just had just a little bit more composure, taking a touch more.

“And second half of course can’t happen, the three goals, that’s one thing – they are a good team okay, very good players, but two ricochets for the third, and the second one can never happen in my opinion.

“Just conceded, literally three minutes into the second half and then from our kick off – can you imagine? But it did.”

Of course, Ivan Toney’s performance may have caught the eye of Postecoglou – with Tottenham possibly eyeing a summer bid.

That being said, Postecoglou was actually angry with one of his own players during the second half.
