Tottenham want to ‘find an agreement’ for Club Brugge youngster Antonio Nusa this month but Ronny Deila is standing in the way of that at present.

That’s according to journalist Pieter-Jan Calcoen, who covers the player today and what’s currently happening with Tottenham’s efforts to sign him.

The youngster is one of the rising stars of Europe and has interesting sides in the Premier League since the summer, when he and his advisors rejected a move to Chelsea.

It is Tottenham who have made their move this month, with it made clear they were exploring a deal to buy the 18-year-old this month but leave him on loan at Brugge until the end of the season.

That is a deal that would suit both parties and reportedly something the player wants too, preferring to stay where he is and get regular playing time to continue his development.

Calcoen insists that remains the case, despite Tottenham’s desire to ‘find an agreement this winter’, the transfer will only take place at the end of the season or there will be a loan back to Brugge until that point.

That’s something Deila believes would be the deal on the table too, insisting that there’s no suggestion Nusa would go before that.

“Nusa is doing well,” Het Niuewsblad report him saying.

“And it will be interesting to see if anything moves around him in the coming days. But again: these things are happening above my head.

“I think it is very important for his personal development that he stays here for another six months. We want that, but that is also his personal wish.

“So, I don’t see him leaving this winter. He will more than likely move to a new team next summer. But normally he stays until June.”

‘Talks are progressing well’… £30m player now decides he wants to join Tottenham

Antonio Nusa is keen on a switch to Tottenham Hotspur and talks over a deal with Club Brugge are ‘progressing well’.

Belgian journalist Sacha Tavolieri has provided the latest update on Antonio Nusa’s possible move to north London.

Tottenham seem to be working towards a deal to snap up the Norwegian starlet and send him back on loan to Club Brugge for the remainder of the season.

In terms of incomings at Spurs before next Thursday’s deadline, a deal for Nusa is the ‘furthest down the line’.

The north Londoners are aiming to beat off competition for the 18-year-old’s signature, with other clubs in the Premier League said to be keen.

And while Spurs remain locked in talks with Brugge, Tavolieri has claimed that Nusa wants to make the switch to Tottenham.

Nusa keen to join Tottenham

Tavolieri took to X on Thursday afternoon and shared the latest on Tottenham’s pursuit of Nusa.

He wrote: “Talks are progressing well between Club Brugge and THFC for Antonio Nusa. Aim’s to fix the deal this winter for an arrival during the summer.

“Club Bruges wants to reach the record of Charles De Ketelaere who was sold to AC Milan for 36M€, bonus included.

“Next days will be important for both clubs to finalise the deal. Antonio Nusa keen to join Spurs.”

While Nusa wouldn’t link up with Ange Postecoglou’s squad until the summer should Spurs wrap up the signing, this is an incredibly smart move from the club.

Nusa is attracting interest from a host of top clubs after an impressive spell in Belgium.

Spurs are bidding to move quickly and secure a bright prospect to avoid a bidding war over the summer.

Indeed, Ben Jacobs has claimed that Tottenham’s willingness to allow Nusa to remain at Brugge for the rest of the season has put them in a commanding position to wrap up a deal.

Nusa looks set for a big future in the game and Spurs could be on the verge of landing one of the brightest prospects in Europe at the moment.

It’s no real surprise to hear that Nusa is keen on a switch to Tottenham either, with Postecoglou making such a huge impact in north London right now.

The Aussie has shown plenty of faith in Spurs’ younger players this season and Nusa will undoubtedly be aware of that.
