Value of iconic Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic rackets revealed – and there is a clear winner

Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic have had plenty of battles on the tennis court during their illustrious careers and now they have had a battle in the auction room.

Sporting memorabilia is becoming a huge business and tennis has been caught up in this boom of interest in recent years.

The Roger Federer Collection realised a combined total of £3,429,125 in a live auction and online sale in 2021, selling 100% by lot and achieving more than three times the pre-sale low estimate.

All proceeds went to benefit of The RF Foundation to support its education initiatives in Switzerland and across countries in Southern Africa, with the enduring popularity of the Swiss icon shining through in that auction.

His great rival Djokovic also had one of his rackets go under the hammer in an auction room last year, as the frame he threw into the crowd after he won the 2016 French Open was put up for sale.

This was a special racket as it was the one Djokovic used to win his first title at Roland Garros, giving him a victory that ensured he won all four Grand Slam title in tennis.

Djokovic’s win against Great Britain’s Andy Murray in the final in Paris often hailed by Djokovic as one of the most significant victories of his career, but he didn’t keep the racket that secured him a place among the tennis greats.

Instead, he threw it into the Roland Garros crowd and it was caught by lucky spectator Abby Doherty.
