Edouard Michut and Glen Kamara are both strongly being linked with a move to Leeds United this
summer, and both the PSG star and Rangers maestro were missing from their side’s friendlies on Friday
night, and Saturday afternoon.
Michut is a target for Leeds after spending last season on loan at Sunderland from the Ligue 1
Champions. He was used 28 times by Tony Mowbray, showing glimpses of quality. Kamara has been a
mainstay at Rangers since 2019.
Fabrizio Romano recently said Leeds are among a number of clubs keen on Michut, who rejected the chance to stay at Sunderland in a £2.2m deal. Graham Smyth says Leeds want Kamara. He has a £5m release clause at Rangers.
On Friday, PSG played their first pre-season game of the season. Luis Enrique picked 26 players, 15 on
the bench. It included players to have returned from loans – like Keylor Navas (Forest), Cher Ndour and
Julian Draxler (Benfica).
Michut and Kamara linked with Leeds: Both missing from friendlies
But no sign of Michut. Earlier, it was reported he would be missing from PSG’s trip to Japan. So, not a
surprise he was not included on Friday night, in a 2-0 win over Le Havre. But also, an indication that he
has not future at PSG.
Then, on Saturday, no sign of Kamara in Michael Beale’s Rangers side – as they secured a 2-1 win over
Hamburger SV thanks to goals from James Tavernier and Fashion Sakala. Not for the first time either,
since pre-season started.
Kamara was missing in the 2-1 loss to Newcastle, and a 2-0 win in Germany beforehand. Part of that
could be down to international involvement with Finland, but surely he would have been back by now.
Both look set to move, then.
