Against Burnley, Leandro Trossard gave Arsenal the lead, but he might have done more harm than good in the process.
Bukayo Saka was able to head back across the goal after a cross into the box, just as the Gunners were anxious to score.
Trossard was the first to rush onto the lost ball and score for the side, although he was clattered as he launched himself forward.
The Belgian struck the post in addition to being sliced in half by Burnley goalkeeper James Trafford.
With a troubled expression on his manager Mikel Arteta’s face, he collapsed, holding his shoulder.
However, he was cleared to play on after scoring a crucial goal shortly before halftime.
As the attacker left for the second half, Arsenal’s medical staff performed miracles on him.
His goal came at a vital time for the Gunners, who had a turgid first-half display otherwise.
Burnley had done a fine job of keeping Mikel Arteta’s men out until then, even having a couple of chances themselves that were well-saved by David Raya.
Kai Havertz had a golden chance to score from a corner but his header blazed well over the bar.
The Germany international has yet to score for Arsenal from open play but has netted a penalty so far after his £65million move from Chelsea in the summer.
But Trossard’s sixth goal of the season in all competitions has given a lacklustre Emirates something to cheer about in the November sunshine.
Arsenal are looking to return to winning ways in the Premier League after losing to Newcastle last week.
That was their first defeat in the league but Arteta is desperate to get them back on track and go one better than their title push last season and win it this season.
