It’s safe to say that things are not entirely clear-cut when rumours surface once more that one of Europe’s more underappreciated midfield talents is being linked to Rangers, the Scottish Premiership’s biggest clubs. It’s unclear at this point how serious Rangers’ purported interest is.
Back in November, Rangers News received word from Romanian sources that there had been no substantial development about Darius Olaru’s possible transfer to Ibrox.
However, the expression “watch this space” comes to mind because the Romanian international has a release clause in his contract worth about £4 million and has now acknowledged that he is prepared to leave FCSB in the new year.
In particular, Rangers appear to be thinking about adding another midfield player in light of interest in Marko Soldo, the star of NK Osijek Croatia might be acquired by Rangers Rangers News has been informed that Soldo, an Under 21 star, is available for a steal of £2.5 million.
Extremely versatile and blessed with ferocious running power, Soldo has blossomed from a deep-lying midfielder into a more attack-minded operator this term. He has a career-best six goals already this term.
But if you think that is impressive number, Olaru’s own tally of 13 goals – plus seven assists – only backs up the argument that man who captained FCSB to their first Romanian league title since 2015 is ready to take the next step.
